I know it's hard to get an admission in lums. Getting in is different I am not asking about it.
I wanted to know is about the studies, there are they tough and can a simple student survive to the end.
Abby surviving is the key how many of your class member drop out or in probation in lums?
I'm not a student at LUMS. Heck I'm not done with Bachelors yet.
I happen to know roughly 60 people from LUMS MBA. Batch of 2014 and batch of 2012. A lot of them relatives, a lot friends. I've seen people break down into tears. Full grown males. Horrid sight.
My cousin was at LUMS MBA two years ago. She used to get up at 5 30 and come back home around 11-12. A lot of friends had the same routine. A lot of people considered dropping out, a few did too. One contemplated suicide. As funny as it sounds, I'm not joking here. Luckily that individual was convinced otherwise by moral support by peers.
It's nothing like Bachelors or College or whatever. It's not even like LSE MBA[Lahore]. I know a few people there too and they have a much more normal life. If you plan on going to LUMS for MBA say good bye to your social life
outside LUMS for 2 years. Coursework difficulty may not be as much as the strength sucked out after the first semester. You see, every day is as tough as the one preceding it. They're not going to teach you stuff from another planet, just that the energy within an individual no matter however determined they feel they are eventually runs out and that's when stress and anxiety kicks in. The 2 years too pay off, though, in terms of job prospects inside Pakistan. Be sure to have enough experience prior to MBA for a good paying lateral position in an MNC/Telecom etc. [At the moment, though, AFAIK, Coke pays around 1,20 + medical + annual cokes/sprites etc, Pepsi 1,40 + medical and Nestle 70 (+ medical + Eid gift box [which is juices, Nido, milk and loads of chocolates] + discounts on all Nestle products)for the first 2 years [MT] and they all hire heavily from LUMS]
Can a simple student survive? Vague.
In my opinion, nay, a simple student cannot survive without going mad at the end by the second year. Whoever survives does possess something special in them to have persevered that far. That's just my opinion though. Subjective talk.
