Salam PGers..... As all of you know that I will be importing Gigabyte motherboards inshallah.... So now I am thinking of importing RAMS and SSDS( will try to import) so I want your suggestions on which ram should i bring.... I think there should be more variety in Rams also... So i am thinking of importing Patriot or OCZ rams.... i havent decided yet so i want your suggestions and comments...

I have added a poll as well so you can vote which will give me a clear idea... so i can concentrate on that brand....

I heard OCZ stopped DRAM manufacturing business? Any help explain it...
Patriot is little expensive and don`t have many variants...
What about Muskin???
If OCZ is in business then you should go with OCZ...

ocz has stopped making mainstream ram. they are concentrating on higher end or enthusiast grade models now. along with ssds which is their strongest product.

The *real* reason behind OCZs decision is diminishing returns on high end memory modules. I had written it before (in two of my reviews published on WCCF) about the future of high performance memory. With sandy bridge essentially killing the requirement of high speed memory for 1:1 operation (SNB processors have unpaired memory and cpu clock speed), the reason for spending more on high speed memory makes little sense.

I was running a 2500K with 1600MHz memory modules and recently replaced them with 1333MHz ones (from4 to 8GB). The difference in performance is negligible. (games are with 1%; compressions with 5%).

OCZ is pretty smart, it got out before taking a bad hit. As OCZ never focused on the value segment (like kingstons does for example), its profits would have taken a dive.

This does not mean that high performance ram will disappear. There will always be market, like there is always a market for Extreme editions, single card dual gpus etc.

And Yes, OCZ will not make DRAM modules any more... at least for the time being.

Spot on and all we need now are SSD's at reasonable rates. Yasir is doing a great job by bringing in G.Skill SSD's. Now we need products from others manufacturers too. More choices = more price points.

There are no 3.5" consumer level SSD's anywhere in the world except a few as far as I know. The main reason for it is that the manufacturers are covering both the desktop and mobile platforms with the same models and the smaller size is cost efficient too. BTW the manufacturers also provide 3.5" adapters for desktop use.

if u r getting official distributors rights for that brand like alien then it wud be a gud option ...
haan if u hve civered all the grey areas n intend to use them then its ur own choice ...
waisay if u manage to bring these brands n offer a gud price it wud be amazing to have such a variety of options to us!!!

Dude getting distribution is not a joke.... and i am following yasir bhai's advice the main reason i m dealing with distributors is that in first consingment i will get the idea about the demand and customer awareness then i will inshallah go for distribution.... getting gigabyte distribution is a big thing there are many factors which have to be considered..... and as u said i have to cover all the grey areas thats wht i m doing by getting stuff from distributors.... ssds and rams are also on my list and i will also import them inshallah.....

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
