Hello,

Since the search is down, I couldn't quite zero-in on the information I was seeking.
Was planing to ask PTCL to install SMART TV. However I was wondering if it'll have any affect on my downloading etc?
Will the speed go down if I'm watching TV or will it have no association with using up my 4mbit?
Also, is it worth it? i-e better than regular cable service

Thanks

No, Your download speed won't be affected , every thing will work perfect , additional 4/3 mb speed will be added to your connection which will be assigned for smart tv.

I also have smart tv since 2 years , my port is open so when ever i am downloading i get smart tv speed too that means i usually download at 700kb/s on 4 mb connection but while watching smart tv my connection remains smooth . This isn't that case with any one , only lucky ones have their port opened :D

Brother, so you are saying that 'lucky' and 'unique' cases have their speed not reduced? Everybody else may be the opposite?
Check this users post. He's saying his internet is reduced by 2mbit while watching smart tv.

You're internet speed will NOT be affected by Smart TV. When you get smart TV you are given 2/3 Mb more bandwidth (reserved for smart TV only). So even when my Smart TV is on I get 450 Kb/s on my 4MB connection.

It will not affect your bandwidth if Multicasting and ports are properly configured to route traffic to the router. Anyone who experiences slow internet when using IPTV is just broadcasting multicasting frames all over their local bandwidth.

Overall it depends on your line. If you think that your current DSL line is perfect OR at least OK giving you the speed equal to your package (1MB/2MB), then you can go for IPTV.

To ensure good quality, they will upgrade your line upto 4MB for tv streaming while you will be charged for the same DSL package which is currently installed with you. So if your connection is 1MB OR 2MB, you will be later enjoying 4MB in the same price + Rs.450 for IPTV Monthly Fee and Setup Top Box price which I dont remember exactly.

My connection is pretty good. Get 470/480 KBPS on torrents but it does go out occasionally.
Like weekends, or Sunday nights it doesn't perform as it should. Sometimes even 100 kbps http-download.
Will this temperamental attitude of the internet affect tv streaming?

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
