You bought a nearly Rs. 300,000 laptop just to 'check it out'?

Gaming has no limits. There are crazy freaks on PG that buy rigs worth 5-10 lac and than sell them after 6 months or so because a newer model hits the market. I didn't buy it just for checking purposes. I said i wanted to experience a high end gaming laptop myself. Turns out it is an overkill for me. That's what i am trying to say.

The main reason of having 1070 or 1080 with 1080p panel is that the Laptop lasts longer and can run future titles at 108060fps as long as it can. It's the reason why some of the manufacturers give you choice to either get 4k screen (less life span in terms of running future titles at native resolution) or 1080p 120hz/60hz ips panel (longer life + sometimes high refresh rate for fps games).

I like your way of thinking. I guess manufacturers should start making 720p 240hz panels in gaming laptops in the future. Because gtx 1080 is more future proof on 720p 240hz than on 1080p 120hz or 4k 60hz. You can keep it for a decade or so and game on ultra setting without any issues i guess.

The only reason for me to go for that 4k Gsync panel was that GTX 1070 can easily do 1440p gaming and even 4k in not every demanding games.

New laptops like Asus Zephyrus is coming with GTX 1080 with 120hz Gsync 1080p screen which makes sense for such a powerful GPU in a laptop to avoid screen tearing and smooth gaming.
Anyway killer specs but for some reason i never liked such loud color scheme on laptops. The most decent gaming laptop is Gigabyte Aero 15 in Black color or Razer Blade (but it has over heating n throttling issues).

still worth it ... a lighter slim laptop is life saver ... i dont see any point getting a thick ass fat moma laptop which will just stay on a desk n would require a crane to lift and a backpack to carry around ...

gaming laptop have changed alot in 2017 n for good reason ... 18mm thick laptops are new standards now n nVidia is pushing its Max-Q tech to various laptop manufacturers ... i am seeing here people buying 250 to 300k thick ass laptops which r virtually immovable ... where as 2017 max-Q will also cost around 300k ... i just wonder what Razer will achieve with this new energy efficient architecture

i would still buy a macbook pro 2017 n replace my 2015 macbook with an e-GPU enclosure running windows in bootcamp ... but thats just me

1440p on a 4k screen looks bad compared to 1440p on a 1440p screen due to bad upscaling. Native resolution is always the best rather it be a 1080p one.
