Possible strategy on going on live?

Alright, so i was just thinking about this possibility, iam going to buy a new xbox soon, so i was thinking of buying another DVD drive along with the console, i will flash that drive and keep the stock as it is, so when i want to play live ill use the stock drive, but when i want to play my back ups i use the flashed drive!

Am i stupid, or is this possible?

hahahah! but iam just worried about loosing the money invested in a gold membership card! werna i wouldve given custom FW a try!

bro when u connect to xbox live they verify your console motherboard serial number and dvd drive serial number... if u change your dvd drive again and again... they gonna notice that something is up... then can easily catch u.. and there's also a new dashboard update is coming after 2 months...

I seriously want to play online, but dont have the budget to afford all the plethora of games that release every now and then!! and cant afford two xbox's!! :-/

That is no good. It is detectable as per the 360 hacker C4E. Spoofed drives are not safe for live until they share a common osig and you will flag your xbox just by flashing ur 360 yourself :/ You need a powering kit like the CK3 as if the xbox 360 does not detect the drive via sata AKA when you are flashing it, it flags itself.

Man, ill make sure the spoofed drive doesnt, only the stock one does!! ill play offline with the spoofed drive and just to make things even more secure ill take the Ethernet cable of! now is it possible??

I think my first post is pretty clear, i dont know whats the confusion here!!
