PC gaming on 4K+HDR TV

Hey fellow gamers,

i am looking for suggestions/advice for buying a 4K+HDR TV. I am in the market these days and cannot make up my mind.

I saw the new TCL C2 tv. Does anyone have any first hand experience with that TV? Specifically for HDR PC gaming?

I know Samsung and Sony have better offerings in terms of quality but that's at a much higher pricer. Frankly we all know the prices for electronics here in pakistan are overinflated anyways.

first for pc gaming you need to look at the input lag u get with the tv's.. if u are on a budget go for samsung ku7000 it has close to 20ms input lag which is great for 4k gaming..

Yes you're right. The KU7000 and even the new MU7000(which is the 2017 refresh) is a great option and there's ton of review articles on both said tvs
The tcl c2 also has the game mode but again I cannot find any credible reviews from a "gamers perspective" which is why I posted this here.
I guess it all comes down to looking at the side to side. I saw both of them separately and the Samsung looked more vibrant albeit being much less than the ks8000

- Tested Ku7000 myself its shit for movies and stuff as that tv has high judder which is a deal breaker for me and most gamers.

- even Ku7000 Don't have hdr tht hdr doesnt work properly it doesnt even have 10bit panel its fake hdr

- only good budget tv that is good for gaming and everything will be Sony 43x800D

- if ur into gaming don't go lower than that... Mu7000 suffers from Judder aswell havent seen with my eyes but reviews say so.

If the hdr performance is mediocre -which is the main reason I want to buy it for- then I should probably go for ks8500 or ks8000

ks series is much better for hdr stuff

if u want u can also buy the last years Sony 43x8000D

i myself Bought 49inch HDR 10 4K IPS TV Sony 49x8000E yesterday man o man m i blown away. will post review later after giving it all types of tests for a week.

i have TCL C2 65 inches, for rs 140,000 its worth the price.

but than again im not a serious gamer, the only PC game i play is NFS most wanted or sometimes Tekken 5, even those at 1080p cuz i only have gtx 970

and the only HDR stuff i have watched on it is a documentary "BBC Planet Earth Season 2". took a while before i realized that HDR is not supported fully on PC
and i had to re watch the whole series through external HDD attached to TV to enjoy it in HDR .

so than i realized that HDR does makes difference .

whatever you decide but its always better to check them side by side if possible

i dont agree with that mu or ku7000 have crap hdr while any x800 series sony have better....for hdr you need 1000nits peak brightness atleast thn its going to make any sense otherwise its all crap no matter sony samsung or any other brand if considered x800 series too have i think max brightnes may be 500 which is half of the brightness required for proper hdr and is same as samsung ku or mu7000 brightness may be a little more but thats also a may be.now for 10bit panel....sir sony x800 series none of the models are 10bits they all are 8bit panel with dithering.if u r considering rtings.com word thn just for info they consider any 8bit panel as 10bit panel as far it displays 10bit display without any problem....ips has better viewing angles but horrible contrast and black uniformity...only thing i agree with is that yes mu7000,ku7000 both have pathetic motion judder but for a normal person if you turn auto motion plus u wont notice any judder but if you turn it on it will cause soap opera effect which i dont find watchable at all.sony wont suffer from judder because of 120 refresh rate which is double of both mu and ku7000 60hz

in your own post you said ku7000 has very good HDR and all that now you are saying this dont know why.....but that judder you are talking about is in all tvs with 60hz refresh rate like c2,c1 tc etc....and 800 series sony is very very costly compared with ku7000 and even newly released mu7000 so both of them fall in totally different budget segments.ips panels usually have good refresh rate which is good for sports especially sony is doing no wonder in that infact u can get same refresh rate from lg too...sony is over priced its each and every model...still sony x70d is for 1lac30k which is more thn mu7000 price and its upscaling of cable was pathetic i only saw that dont know about other things.i think 1 sould consider to buy ks8000 instead of sony x800 series which is far superior thn sony 800 series by every means and its not that costly when compared with sony 800 series price....proper competiton budget wise is of sony x70d and mu,ku7000...and again auto motion plus settings turned off and a normal perosn wont find any issue with motion at all.yes you are right about viewing angles of ips are great but again light bleed,clouding and very bad black uniformity these all matters when you watch any season or movie with most of black content.only thing i liked about sony was its build quality....last time i asked for its price was when i went to buy tv which is previous month and it was for 1lac80 or 1lac85k while i got mu7000 in 1lac28k so thats a huge difference and as far as i know both mu7000 and ku7000 have very good response time which is essential for gaming.....you are confused or misuided by sm1 because if i remeber correctly u also said that mu7000 doesnt have horrible motion judder like ku7000 which is totally wrong...both these tvs are 100% same hardware wise and even software difference is very very minor...i was forced to buy mu7000 because all ku7000s i was getting were refurbished ones

Samsung MU 7000 is a great tv for 4k.. with pc or laptop

these are two major info u need to know


1)make sure connecting the cable in HDMI 1 as in most TV that is the port that supports 60hz

2)make sure u have a HDMI cable which isn't chinese bullshit 1.4 and its a 2.0 (if no than try buying and testing cable which is 2.0)

3)one more major thing (R9 290) doesn't support HDMI 2.0 so u don't have any other choice but to change ur GPU for 60hz.


3rd is the major for you for now.

MU 7000 is a different TV than the KU 7000

KU 7000 has major bug of Judder in content i have seen it myself.​

you know better why u edited your comment beharhal i owned both of the tvs and both are 100 % same as i said earlier especially if you talk about judder its same whether you turn on auto motion plus or turn it off its 100% same may be reason is that both have 100% same hardware and if samsung was able to do that judder thing better thn they would have updated it through firmware update in ku7000 too because both have 60hz refresh rate....i told you it before too that how mu7000 judder would e better because both have 60hz refresh rate and then i checked and compared both of thm at display center and finally aftr buying both of the tvs(ku7000 was with me for almost 10days before returning it)i am 100% confident that both have exactly same judder and its still too damn annoying like it was in ku7000.

mu7000 has overall better hdr etc etc than ku7000 like i said mu7000 is a different tv .. there the comment was meant for the person who was in doubt if tht tv can do 60hz or not.
