PS4 too ? aww yiss .. before anyone asks why .. the Persona 4 dancing game was an actual canonical story sequel to Persona 4, so if these act as sequels that'd be great.

However, spoilers for P3,
Spoiler: show
the P3 dancing game can't be a sequel cause you sort of die (perma-coma) at the end ..

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has new details on Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night, which were recently announced as due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan in spring 2018.

Here are the tidbits:

  • Atlus is making the best of the experience it gained developing Persona 4: Dancing All Night in polishing the visuals, action, and every other element of the two new Dancing titles.
  • There will be completely new songs.
  • There will be a new mode that replaces story mode.
  • The PlayStation 4 version of each game will run at 60 frames per second.
  • The gameplay system will follow that of Persona 4: Dancing All Night, but with brush-ups, additions, and removals. They want to introduce crazy elements and colorful elements that cannot be done in the main story.
  • All of the members of the Atlus Sound Team are participating.
  • Confirmed songs for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night include “Burn My Dread,” “Mass Destruction,” and “Heartful Cry.”
  • Confirmed songs for Persona 5: Dancing Star Night include “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There,” “Last Surprise,” and “Life Will Change.”
  • Producer ‎Kazuhisa Wada: “Character models are enhanced compared to Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and we’re being even more particular about dance motions.”
  • Wada: “This is the first time we created models of the Persona 3 characters with realistic body proportions. The impact of that is quite big.”
  • Composer Ryota Koduka: “Deep and serious stories will develop through these games, but we want to put in crazy elements and colorful elements that cannot be done in the main story.”

I dont know how should I feel about this.
You should be ecstatic, P4DAN was terrific. I mean, I don't know how they're going to justify the dancing in P3 but I sure as hell am looking forward to it lol. Besides, we'll get some bomb ass music and remixes.

Wait, really? Also what about the Arena story modes? are those canonical?

Also this is hardly a surprise, it took them 9 years to make P5, they're gonna milk it to death now, expect more handheld spin offs, fighting games, anime series etc etc.

Yes, both Arena games are canonical. As was the P4 dance game. I know .. it's all fucked up .. but it's true.

The only thing that it conflicts with is the extra ending content they added in the VITA P4 port, because that takes place a few months after p4 ends and shows all the cast looking completely different (different hair styles etc). Both arena games and the dancing games also take place some time after P4 and they have all the cast in their original looking forms.

@NaNoW if you're still confused as to why Persona is awesome, this is basically how an average Social link ends:

and this is the average non-dungeon school day.

That's pretty cool, I'll still wait till this game is either bargain bin price or hits redbox for rental :p

As much as I love Persona, I'm not buying a $59.99 dancing game at full price.

So disappointed they're coming out in 2019. P4D's English version was out within 3 months of the Japanese version.
