Finally a proper star wars game after jedi knight 2.
been waiting for this for a long time now.
those jedi powers, they should include that really high flying jump from jedi knight 2.

the only bothersome thing was not even one limb was separated from lt saber cuts.

So this is very interesting.

Listening to this week's Giant Beastcast podcast. Brad Shoemaker says he had a hands on with the game and he said the game actually plays like a Souls game more than a linear Uncharted style game.

Eg, there are 'meditation points' where you can rest and save the game, but if you do, all the enemies re-spawn (bonfires basically) and the levels have interconnected areas, like near the end you will open short-cuts to earlier in the level (similar to Dark Souls etc).

This looks interesting, at least on paper. Although I am not too sure how this would contextualize in a Star Wars game. The gameplay reveal was pretty average though. For me, it looked like a game that you usually get only when when its on sale.

Jedi Fallen Order is Very Similar to Sekiro, Says Respawn | Screenrant

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is drawing inspiration from its combat from an unlikely source, with its lead combat designer calling the game “very similar” to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game’s debut video at E3 didn’t reveal too much about how combat would feel in the game, but comparisons to From Software’s most recent title started flying in after reports of its behind-closed-doors demo, and this statement from Respawn confirms that that’s no coincidence.
However, its combat also had some features that made it a little less punishing than the studio’s previous games. In particular, it did away with the long-time Dark Souls mainstay of a stamina bar, which put a limit to how many actions players could perform before needing to stop and catch their breath. In Sekiro, players could slash, block, or jump as much as they wanted without worrying about stamina.
No spammable mechanics please lol.

WTF even high end gaming pcs are like 18gb and such who the F uses 32gb ram
What I wana know is how does one even arrive at an 18GB configuration when the minimum stick is 4GB :p

This doesn't mean much when the minimum is 8gb which will be fine to hit a steady framerate. Id be surprised if the game alone consumed more than 16gb.

I can guarantee you it even won't hit 16 GB usage. Maybe 13 gigs in a bloated system.

Positive impressions so far. Looks like the E3 demo just wasn't the best way to show this game. Respawn has a solid track record and the fact that they moved from FPS to third person action combat isn't a concern for me at all, even though the animations and combat flow doesn't hold a candle to Sekiro.

Respawn may have just restored my faith in Star Wars video games.

I wouldn't blame you for being nervous about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. EA and Respawn haven't shown a lot of gameplay aside from a 20-minute extended demo at E3 2019. That usually doesn't inspire confidence when you're less than a month out from release at this point. But I'm happy to report those fears are mostly unfounded.

While too much of the plot can’t be revealed (or uncovered in only three hours), “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” already stands out among “Star Wars” games. By rewarding exploration and thoughtfulness in combat, “Fallen Order” seems challenging without being inapproachable.

That stealth shot at Devil May Cry :hah:

Fallen Order's combat takes cues from the seminal Souls series, placing considerable attention on maintaining control during a fight instead of mashing buttons and using powers wildly. Like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, you'll need to break through an enemy's defenses to get the killing blow. According to Asmussen, they refer to Fallen Order's battle system as "thoughtful combat."

Wow.... I never actually expected Souls esque Star Wars game... More so from someone like EA..... I kinda have mix feelings about this game atm. Either this is going to be really really good or suck ass real bad. I hope its the former though.

Console version will give a Performance or Quality option for Pro and X:

Respawn Producer Paul Hatfield said at a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order event that the PlayStation 4 Pro version will offer up two options. Quality will lock the game at 30 FPS, hopefully guaranteeing a stronger experience. On the other hand, performance will target a higher frame rate. The goal is always 60 FPS, but at times the game won’t be able to handle that and dip. Still, it could be the closest a modern souls-styled game on consoles will be coming to 60 FPS. If you just have the base PlayStation 4, then you’ll be stuck with the game hovering around 30 FPS.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
