Yep... Relic of the past with its tired game design. Nostalgic fanboys were happy with it after the sour taste left by DmC on the franchise.

whoa whoa whoa

so heres the thing, sekiro has no difficutly per say that you can tweak at the start. u start with minimal health and not much prosthetics and abilities later on when you progress you get them and the game gets better but at start its quite hard especially if you have not played a fromsoftware game before and dont know what the hell you are getting into. later on there is demon bell and kuros charm of tweaking the difficulty of the game but thats another thing. i never tweaked anything, kuro charm was given i took it demons bell was to be rung or not i didn't as the game was quite hard already

as for dmc 5 we have difficulties already we can tweak etc whatever but i play every game on normal as its mean't to be and so it was teh case for dmc5 with me as well. and tbh the extrahard modes for dmc5 are quite crazy to begin with as well which i skipped since aint no time to end a game over and over again man. plus dmc 5 honestly was quite repetitive this time around should had ended at stage 12 they just mashed up levels and gave different characters to end those levels with just to keep replayability or such or give mroe time to the game. original dmc trilogy is the BEST

i dunno, I enjoyed DMC 5...I found the variations with the arms, the guns and with other character's abilities to be enough ..but I will admit I didnt finish it.

they have definitely improved upon the variations switch seamlessly during combat but since you didn't finish it as i said it becomes a bit repetitive.

Some parts of DMC5 were indeed repetitive, I agree, but I found Sekiro to be way more repetitive on the whole. Outside of a couple of variations, the bosses were same-y (mid-bosses in particular) one trick ponies.

I don't know about you guys but for these reasons I found DMC 5 to be utterly boring:

- how is chaining lengthy combos any good when all you're going up against is dumb AI trapped inside a small corridor?....I'm sorry to say, but this kind of gameplay is ends up becoming cheap and monotonous.
- whenever you're stuck fighting a bunch of enemies, the doors/paths leading to the entrance and exit of areas are blocked by this weird red colored ooze....now, you have to admit, this is old-gen stuff....why restrict the gameplay and make it feel like small arena fights, one after the other?....it makes everything so terribly monotonous, not to mention dumb.
- I'm not going to take a DMC game seriously until they entirely revamp the engine and fix the fundamentally flawed nature of the existing games.

'Small corridor vs small arena'...that contradiction in the very same post lol. And then this thing about blocking the entrance/exit to areas being "archaic". Yeah, From Soft's games totally don't have that

Also, speaking of dumb AI.

Those aren't actually my words, so thanks for proving the hypocrisy of the original poster (lmao)

Didn't take long to find it now did it? But ofcourse you already knew that what with referencing my over half a decade old posts yourself and scanning shoutbox every day for screenshots of my shouts. Receipts can ofcourse be provided for that too.

Now lets come back to the hypocrisy of taking DMC seriously so you could just bash Sekiro :hah:

BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

It is indeed the worst generation by far.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
