Resi 2 remake has one of the best level designs I have ever come across after Bloodborne
Yeah these two games are among the finest representations of Metroidvania design in a 3D game.

I only wish Capcom had taken the same route with DMC5, but the demo and reviews indicate otherwise.

You mean you wanted them to give DMC metroidvania elements ?

I don't think that would have gone well with the fanbase.

I managed to get the first person mod working after a bunch of tinkering. Yeah it's a good effort but there are a bunch of small glitches etc (like lighting sorta breaking in some rooms). But it's definitely a unique way to replay the game that's for sure.

It's not possible to completely stop the head-bob while running but at least the mod has an option to reduce it a lot from the default values. Otherwise it'd become a real messy experience. Will take some pics and post later or over the weekend.

Some first person pics, as we can see, it's not perfect, weird perspective issue, weird lighting related glitches and the camera doesn't feel anywhere near as smooth as it does in third person. But a great effort for a fan-mod.

man headbobbing in fps, calls for a nausea feeling :p
Yep, unfortunately no way to completely turn off head bob in first person mode.

RE7 has the option and I'm glad it does. Makes playing games in first person much more enjoyable to me without the bobbing every step.

[h=1]Resident Evil 2 add-on will let you skip the challenges, get right to the Tofu[/h]

[h=2]New $4.99 DLC will let you unlock all the in-game rewards[/h]

Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake offers plenty beyond the core campaigns for Claire and Leon. Two extra scenarios, starring Umbrella Security Services operative Hunk and STARS member Tofu, are also available. But if you don’t want to put in the work or the time to unlock them — Hunk merely requires completing the game’s A and B scenarios — you can do that now for a few extra bucks.
The All In-game Rewards Unlock item costs $4.99 and grants immediate access to “The 4th Survivor” and “The Tofu Survivor” scenarios, as well as costumes, the infinite bonus weapon, and in-game models and concept art. These extras can be unlocked through gameplay by meeting certain requirements, but if you don’t feel like tackling some of Resident Evil 2’s more difficult challenges, and still want all the stuff, Capcom’s giving you the option for a small fee.
Resident Evil 2’s in-game rewards unlock is available from the PlayStation Store, Steam, andXbox Games Store. That time-saving purchase may be a little easier to swallow with all the free content — Ghost Survivors and the ’98 costumes for Claire and Leon — that Capcom has released since Resident Evil 2 arrived in January.

[h=1]Voice Actor for Resident Evil 2's Leon Kennedy Passes Away[/h]

Paul Haddad, the voice actor for the legendary Leon Kennedy from the original Resident Evil 2, has sadly passed away, and many are mourning his loss.

  • In a huge blow to his loved ones and fans of the popular survival horror series, Paul Haddad, the voice actor of the original Resident Evil 2's Leon Kennedy has passed away. Haddad's legacy as a thespian lives on not only through his timeless role as a video game icon, but also through his many other acting credits.
Paul Haddad was born in Birhmingham, England on May 20, 1963, and the English-born Canadian later returned to Quebec with his family. There, he studied acting at McGill University and and the National Theater School of Canada in Montreal, graduating in 1988. From 1986 until his passing, Haddad appeared in several live-action TV and movie productions, and found particular success in video game and animation voice work, which led to his role as Quicksilver and other characters in the 1992 X-Men cartoon. He later starred alongside fellow Canadian Alyson Court (Claire Redfield) in the 1998 hit PS1 hit Resident Evil 2, playing the unforgettable part of rookie cop Leon Kennedy as he survives a zombie apocalypse in the infamous Raccoon City Police Station. He didn't reprise the role in future games, but he helped shape a character that remains a fan favorite to this day.

Paul Haddad's most recent work was as The Cleaner in Daymare: 1998, a nostalgic ode to Resident Evil 2, which released for PC in September 2019 and is slated for launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 28, 2020. On April 17, Daymare: 1998 developer Invader Studios shared the shocking news of Haddad having passed away two days prior in a heartfelt tweet, stating, "Paul Haddad, our dear friend and icon among the RE community, has passed away recently." The solemn goodbye concluded, "Rest in Peace Paul... You will live forever in our hearts." Others in the gaming industry and Resident Evil fan community were quick to share their emotional farewells, including Limited Run Games' Alex Aniel, Resident EvilYouTuber The Sphere Hunter, and Teppen developer GungHo Online. Read their responses below:

There's no doubt that Haddad's beloved performance as Leon Kennedy has stayed with many players of the original Resident Evil 2, whose massive success in 1998 helped introduce a new generation to survival horror by making the modern remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 possible. Before his death, Haddad shared with fans that he had previously suffered from laryngeal cancer, surviving but permanently damaging his vocal chords in the process. It is currently unknown if his previous cancer diagnosis was relevant to his death at 57 years of age, and no official cause of death has been shared by authorities or his estate at this time.
Paul Haddad may be gone from the acting world he so loved and helped to define, but his legacy lives on in the seeds he planted in legendary characters like Leon Kennedy. From the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 2 remake to the series' rumored future innovations, his voice and those it inspired will continue to echo on throughout the annals of gaming history.

Personally i see only one game that should be truly deserving of GOTY title this year (if it delivers). And that's KCD:II

  • XPremiuM XPremiuM:
The gameplay is generic & outdated in that game. And it's 5 hour campaign is too short to enjoy.

About Hellblade 2, I just watched the story on a YT channel out of curiosity and I think it has the Hallmark of a GOTY this year. While many criticize the game and I also don't like this genre of game, I believe the story and visuals looks like a cenimatic masterpiece.
It may win the "best visuals" category, but that's about it. A GOTY contender needs to nail all aspects (Story, Gameplay, Visuals, etc)

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.
