"Ok, this works...for now....When you are running out of time - minimize demo (alt+tab) and terminate process through task manager. Start game - you have 30 minutes again.

Tested couple of times - it works...for now."
Let's wait a few hours, I'm sure someone will cook up a cheat engine script for this.

also:

"So apparently the timer is tied to the amount of achievements unlocked. So if you unlocked the 10th minute achievements, if you force the game to close through task manager or Alt+F4 at 12 min, it will revert back to 10 when you launch again.

Simply put, the DRM tracks your achievements to set the timer. It might be moddable after all. The mod would need to be activated after the game is launched and the tracking is made perhaps. "

Also the VRAM scenario seems similar to RE7. Lowering it doesn't affect the quality but reduces the amount of textures loaded into VRAM. Unless you go Low or something.

Demo is downloaded remotely. Will check it out in a bit.

This is not an open world game, would be kinda redundant and a waste of resources if this is true. I won't mind running at a mix of medium to high. My PC was comfortably able to run RE7 at better specs but if this game doesn't, will cancel PC pre order and get the PS4 version instead, already played the demo on Pro and it runs extremely well there.

Ok.

Apparently the PC version has some REAL granular settings .. like really nitpicky stuff ..

this is what the texture settings is:

Texture quality: Low (0GB); Medium (0.25GB); Medium (0.5GB); High (0.25GB); High (0.5GB); High (1GB); High (2GB); High (3GB); High (4GB); High (6GB); High (8GB)

What I think is happening: You are basically allocating amount of VRAM so textures get cached, rest will likely be streamed from HDD instead of being cached on your VRAM. So it *might* cause streaming issues (on slow HDDs I guess) but there won't be a perceivable difference in quality between say High 0.25 and High 8GB when they're loaded.

Basically what I said :p

Redundant and waste of resources.

I'm looking for the time limit trainer out in the wild before starting the demo. You have a link?

Just a few quick notes here:

- The trainer works, no time limit restrictions on PC.

- Lighting and assets don't play well together and even in-game resolution scaling will not eliminate jaggies and shimmering. I set it to 180% and it still looks bad and incurs a heavy performance penalty.

- TAA is the only way to smooth out the image but the amount of blur introduced is horrible. I reckon the PS4 version is using SMAA or FXAA (both options present on PC). Blur or jaggies/shimmering. Pick your poison folks.

- SSR reflections are kinda broken too.

- Gameplay in ultrawide looks great.

Mere bhai, PS4 version is not a jagged mess, it's like 10% of Janarioo's pictures, I don't know where this is coming from :p

TAA is baked into the RE engine, RE2 demo has the exact same visual results that RE7's Pro and XBX patches had. Pro was sharper even at a lower resolution because the XBX implementation of TAA was incredibly heavy.

There is no "variable" option in the demo unlike RE7 unfortunately. Hoping it's in the final release. SSR is broken, so it's either broken SSR or no SSR at all.

I've tried all AA options. They all look bad. PS4 probably has TAA as well, because all other options make Leon's hair a staircase mess.

X1X demo probably is bugged or running at a lower resolution which makes it look extra blurry.

OK, played the demo on PC.

- 1080p/60 achieved pretty comfortably with room to spare for 110 or 120% increase.
- Turning off CA has a positive effect on IQ, while not huge, but it's still there.
- My average VRAM usage ended up being 4.5GB based on how I tweaked the settings.
- Noticed some micro stuttering a few times even though in most cases avg frame rate was way north of 60. Guessing that's the textures being cached (?)
- For the demo I stuck with Textures High 2GB, not sure if/any difference would have been made any other setting.
- Playing the game on anything but TAA or FXAA + TAA is really difficult because of how noisy everything gets.
- Holy crap, DX12 API *kills* the performance. On average in opening RPD hall I noticed a near 12, 15 FPS drop when using DX12 mode versus DX11.

I think I'll stick with my PC pre order, though having played them both, the PS4 Pro version certainly stands very nicely against the PC. For anyone with a computer that can't handle 1080p/60, the PS4 version should service incredibly well.

If Capcom had announced ultrawide support earlier when Cdkeys had this for $40 I would've considered picking this up. As it stands, with Denuvo and now the game costing $60, I'm gonna have to sit this one out and let codex do their work.

Thats strange. I saw it for $56, maybe I checked the Deluxe Edition by mistake.

Yes I noticed a 1 sec hitch while climbing the stairs to the upper floors. It's probably related to streaming as otherwise it was a perfectly stable 60fps.

I also played it on PS4 and noticed some occasional stutters but generally it was okay. The game was definitely using TAA as it was quite blurry and gamma differences made it appear more saturated.

Did not like the gamepad controls. Capcom has done a decent job with mouse controls. Gunplay still feels off though. Pistol sounds bad and enemies hit feedback still has that floaty feel to it. Played Deadspace recently and its way more satisfying.

Chandoo bhai gameplay ki bhi baat kar lo thordi :p

I liked the gunplay, but Leon's movement felt a little off to me. He usually strafes when you move the left stick on the x-axis, but tilt the stick a little to the y-axis, and he begins to make sharp turns unless you're in ADS.

It's a minor gripe, but I'd prefer full tank controls.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
