Yeah, shitty QTEs aside, the gameplay looks pretty solid.Too many QTE's but gottt dayummm if that combat and city swinging didn't look awesome.
opcorn2:my prediction is that Spiderman will be mindbogglingly awesome
"We want to deliver on the story," Intihar told us. "Whether it's the comics, the cartoons, the movies, or the TV shows, it all starts with the story, and for us it starts with Peter. As awesome as it is to be Spider-Man, for everybody to connect with him, we need to deliver that human story with Peter Parker. We're going to show how Spider-Man's and Peter Parker's worlds collide, and that's a big thing for us."
Another goal is to deliver on the fantasy of being Spider-Man, whether it's the improvisable nature of his combat, the expanded move-set, the traversing, parkouring over objects, and lastly those big spectacle moments, the blockbuster moments only Spider-Man can survive. The human story, being Spider-Man, and obviously New York, making a world that people want to explore, to spend time in. That's really what we want to deliver on.
We’re going to be seeing a healthy mix of old, established well-known characters and newer characters that have been introduced more recently and may not be as well known.
Bryan Intihar said that the development team at Insomniac focused a great deal on the parkour and city traversal elements, complete with all the web slinging, saying that it is all completely fluid and is actually backed by a proper physics system. Intihar also said that traversing through the city with the web slinging will actually require skill from the players, which makes sense.
Go behind the scenes at Insomniac Games as they create an all-new, original Spider-Man story with a more experienced Peter Parker. See how the team at Insomniac Games, in collaboration with Marvel Games and PlayStation, is building a blockbuster action experience where Peter Parker and Spider-Man’s worlds collide.
I stand by my earlier claim ..X 2I stand by my earlier claim :opcorn2:
But first ... the trailer. The latest video showcases Spider-Man writers Christos Gage and Dan Slott as they talk about the writing process to create the "best" Spider-Man story they possibly can. But it wasn't just all talk, there was some gameplay in there as well for PlayStation players to get a more detailed look at how the title will run such as mechanics and narrative driven flow. It is worth mentioning that the above footage was all captured using a PlayStation 4 Pro - so it might not be a 100% accurate visualisation for all PS4 players.
Marvel's Bill Rosemann and Insomniac's Bryan Intihar also took part in a live stream where they talked about their own experience, as well as some teasers about "interesting scripts" they've been looking over for some of the more powerful aspects of the new game. No release date, yet though ... they've got to keep some mystery! It's very easy to see the passion this team has for what they do, and Marvel fans can look forward to a truly authentic experience courtesy of PlayStation.

Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 is tentatively set for a 2018 release date. In other PlayStation Experience news, did you see that Mega Man was busting his way into the open-world adventure Monster Hunter: World? Even if you're not a MH fan, it's too weird not to check out for yourself.
