I wonder if VR is supported for the beta. AFAIK, it's only been confirmed for launch so far.

The one feature I'm really excited about is being able to export the 3D assets and models you sculpt and animate in Dreams into other game engines. The major issue with user-created content in LittleBigPlanet was that you couldn't really do anything with it beyond the scope of the game's ecosystem.

This is definitely the kind of thing I will never make anything in, but will certainly enjoy seeing what creative things other people can come up with.

This is a game that has the potential to bring some great stuff not just on the PS4 but on the upcoming PS5 as well.

I'm not in favor of scoring early access reviews, but whatever. The current build doesn't even have a story mode, nor does it have multiplayer and VR support.

Destructoid - No Score

Most of all, I'm impressed Dreams is exactly what Media Molecule set out to make: a game that encourages a wide range of creative fields to come together and inspire each other day after day. Dreams reawakened something inside of me, and I hope it gets the support it deserves. I can see it fostering a generation of fledgling artists, designers, and musicians as they follow their passion.

Whether you try it now in Early Access or hold off until the full launch, don't miss Dreams.
PSU - No Score

Maybe even more impressive than the tools of mass creation Dreams offers is the beautiful community that is growing from it. Through the years I’ve been part of many gaming communities. I’ve seen the best and worst case scenarios, but I’ve never seen anything like this. The Dreamiverse is a social hub where you can like, follow, and leave comments for other dreamers. The respect and encouragement I’m seeing there has restored my faith in humanity more than a little.

It might sound cliché but the possibilities of Dreams really are endless. It’s remarkably polished for a game in early access and you shouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to experience it even if you just want to sit back, watch and marvel at the creations of others.

OPM UK - 10/10

This is not a video game, it's a community. That simple adjustment changes everything about our relationship with games, with our PS4, and how we treat one another. Dreams is a platform that breaks down boundaries and smudges the line between developer and player. We're in the eye of a creative storm, a moment in history to be embraced, and it's only available on PS4.

Game Informer - 9.5/10

Dreams is an idealistic vision of game development, where people create, collaborate, and share games purely for the love of gaming. No Dreams game may ever reach the polish of a triple-A title, but they also lack the cynical business side of game development, where test groups and microtransactions take precedence over unbridled creativity. The prospect that we’ll someday see future developers who got their start in Dreams seems inevitable, but also moot – in a very real sense, Dreams players already are game developers. We may have longer to wait for the official release and Media Molecule’s single-player story levels, but Dreams is already a magnificent wellspring for those who love playing, creating, and thinking about games in all their many forms.
