Anticipate his TPs. Use anti-tinker wards. I saw one in a pro-game and well, after that got a bit creative. I'm sure there's a guide somewhere there but basically, you can play an observer outside of the main map near the sidelane trees. It gives complete vision in the tree area and basically, when tinker tps and blinks, you can see where he is.
And well, don't let him farm so fast. Block his ancients, ward their jungle.
Silencer, Spectre and Stormmmmmmmmm Spirit. Also if you have a tanky hero(like Clockwerk or centaur) you can go blade mail so he doesn't try to do that laser and Dagon combo. For that either he has to go BKB or get a hex

I block the ancients everytime, just starts a warding/dewarding war and doesn't seem to effect the Tinker too much. They still manage 10 mins Bots, I guess warding the trees seems like the next thing to try, CW also sounds like a good option. I have seen Storm's fail though, jumping into the march damage kills them.
I normally don't this but oh man, you guys HAVE to see this.

Silencer and spectre do not counter tinker at all, he will just steamroll both of them. Storm spirit is the only viable counter to a tinker.
considering a game where Tinker does not snowball out of control, and the Silencer and Spec are on par with the farm, then both these heroes completely destroy Tinker... i have no clue what you're talking about :/
watch that EG vs Alliance game where Arteezy was forced to make Manta BKB on tinker just to stand in front of Silencer

i dont know how this will work in solo queue, but normally, when im in party against tinker, we just pick a very strong roaming support duo, and/or a very strong 15-16 min teamfight.... either we shut tinker down in lane, or just steamroll through the other 4 heroes in teamfights and just let tinker do what he wants on the map.... Heroes like Enigma are perfect for this.... fast jungler, fast mek potential, great teamfight hero and can also gank mid lane very easily.... but ofcourse, a certain level of co-ordination is required, which is usually missing in solo queue
All things considered, I think Spectre is not that good as a counter to Tinker. Spectre doesn't have any built-in disables or silences, which are what hurt Tinker the most. You'd have to be facing the worst tinker ever for SPectre to be demolishing Tinker.
Storm SPirit,Silencer and Clock on the other hard, absolutely destroy Tinker, especially if the SS can get a relatively quick orchid.
Sticker, pls. Just carapace into his march, ez impale, ez eblade --> dagon --> mana burn, ez game. :crazy:

My reason for choosing Spectre is that she can jump right onto him even if hes a blink. One main issue I have with Tinker is that he blinks into the trees. That is where your spectre comes into play.
Hehe Talha's so called Anti-Tinker strat. In all fairness except for the brood pick our lineup was quite strong early game. We needed a jungler like Doom or Enigma and should had let Pugna take farm. Tinker's had no arsenal to stop DP's spirits, Pugna blast and Serpant wards.
Also I think we should had gone 1-1-3 for this, as soon as clock gets his hookshot then we needed to start focusing on tinker.

The solution to tinker.. The anti-tinker wards. If you let him farm bots+dagon+blink, you're doing something wrong.
anti-tinker wards are useless during that pre-dagon/blink period... tinkers don't farm lanes before they get these items.... they farm the jungle/ancients
