Waiting for PTCL GPON in G-13.

Man, I so wish we didn't have a PTCL/Nayatel monopoly in Isb and Pindi. I'm using 20mbps VDSL, but that leaves me with no choices when it comes to gaming because of higher latencies.

PTCL's service is much better than before but still very sporadic, especially with their coverage area for GPON. In Islamabad, they're only offering it in the F sectors and Bahria as far as I know. Plus the cost of higher speeds is still on the pricey side...

On the other hand, Naytel is seriously swindling people with the promise of better latency but offering lower speeds that are an affront to fiber services everywhere (seriously 10 mbps max and no 24/7 unlimited in 2017...)

I really hope some ISPs come over from Karachi and Lahore to show these guys what a "proper" fiber service is about.

Couldn't have said it better.

Believe me when I say PTCL GPON is nothing special. If you've got 20 Mbps VDSL, getting the same package on GPON will make no difference.

You guys in Islamabad still have a chance, other ISPs will eventually come there and give Nayatel some competition, but here in Bahria, there's no competition at all. Nayatel still isn't allowed, PTCLs taking over by covering all of Bahria with GPON and still charging exorbitant prices and we'll probably be stuck with them forever.

I just hope that the other Fiber ISPs in other cities give them a tough time so they think about reducing their monthly prices.

I don't know about that, the no difference thing... One of my friends just got PTCL GPON in Bahria Phase 8 and he's getting 150-160ms pings in games on EU servers, while I'm stuck with 200-220ms. 40-60ms makes all the difference in the world in games like Battlefield, Overwatch and Street Fighter.

and yeah, still keeping fingers crossed for some actual competition but no idea if any other ISPs are even planning on coming here. Hopefully, PTCL will lose market share in other cities because of the competition and that will make them rethink their strategy. But that will take a lot of time or a miracle...PTCL still has almost 90%+ of the market cornered just because of its large network and size.

150-160 on EU in-game is very impressive... I can't get anywhere near 150 on GPON. The lowest I've gotten on EU is probably 175, and that was once, now it's minimum 185, and usually is stable around 200, sometimes higher and recently there's been a lot of packet loss as well, which is quite a pain, playing Battlefield only to find out your bullets are going into a black hole and then eventually a message comes up saying 'You have lost connection to the server'.

Unfortunately, depending on area/customer, PTCL is still like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get... :p

Gradually transitioning from console gaming to PC as the games are not worth it. 6 hours of Hellblade 2 is just not worth the $50 price tag.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!

I tried both NayaPay, and UBL, but I keep getting "correct country selected..." error. I already have PK set there 🤦‍♂️
