It's hard and resembles an over-sized golf ball complete with indentations. I believe they changed the design to its present state ever since Hockey started being played on Astro Turf.

yeah but also the dispute among the players & Hockey Federation of PAK.
a lot of our hockey players, play their hockey in Holland & in other European leagues.
but very less in PAK. also the politics as always evident here.

their is a big difference playing on the astro turfs nd in grounds the thng which destroyed our hockey is the lack of availibility of astro turfs on the lower level also lack of jobs and there are other factors which played their role in destroying pakistan hockey

I know played in atleast 8 ground in Karachi with astro truf..and I am not even a big hockey player..

Some relief at last! Defending Asian Games Champions Pakistan today beat traditional arch-rivals India 2-1 in the Group League Men's Hockey match.

Umar Bhutta and Mohammad Waqas scored a goal each for Pakistan. This puts us on top of the table and into the Semi-Finals.

I'm convinced now that the Pakistani nation suffers from a mental block when it comes to knock-out matches. Not only Hockey, in every single sport ranging from Cricket to Tennis. Our sportsmen need psychiatrists rather than coaches.

India takes Asian Games Gold and book a place in the Rio Olympics 2016. That was a pretty pathetic penalty shoot-out which Pak lost 4-1. The game was tied 1-1 after the end of the fourth quarter.

Reminds me of Pakistan's terrible performance in bowl outs in T20s against India.

I miss the classic penalty strokes, this shoot out thing doesn't have the same thrill. Don't know when is the ball actually considered dead? I mean on one of the strokes the Indian keeper stopped the ball twice but still the goal was scored on the third attempt. It is all a little confusing.

There's a time limit to the penalty shoot-out. Penalty is under play as long as the ball is in the 'D' no matter how many times it deflects off the keeper.

Hockey is our national game, i don't know why government is not taking interest in this department. We have lot of talent, Recent series is big example. We should invest in Hockey heavily specially Gojra is heart for hockey field.

YEAH Abuses will lead to ban! Showed India who's boss :finger: Fantastic ending to a fantastic see-saw match. Pakistan taking it 4-3 in the end with a late goal. Not the best performance but we'll take a win.

Me heart was thumping all along. We're now into our first Champions Trophy final since Lahore '04. Will be facing ze Germans.

Pakistan vs Germany final is tonight. Starting time is 7:00 p.m PST. Ten Sports is telecasting the match, apparently. But will they? Because Pakistan vs New Zealand will be on at that time.
