^ CS as a whole is a general field, meaning it encompasses many other fields including Software Engineering. Both the courses have more or less similar courses i think. Better to choose a generic field and then specialize in something, i.e Software engineering IMO.

guys im applying to a uni outside pakistan where it doesnt have computer science but 'computer engineering'. How different are the two cause I've heard most of their modules are the same and when applying for a job it doesnt matter so long as its 'in the ballpark'

How different are they and how true is this?

^ Computer engineering is more of a hardware field. It's like a sub field of Electrical engineering IMO.
Computer science is a generic field which touches almost everything, lil bit of hardware,software etc

Bs cs is different from CE, CE has more to do with hardware whereas in BSCS, you have to deal with both i-e software plus hardware but it has more to do with software and programming

You've asked this question for like million times already. Why don't you just apply everywhere and see what happens next? I applied for LUMS and FCCU, gave both tests without much preparation. Got into FCCU, let's see what becomes of LUMS. FAST-NU/NUST is next.

Fast is actually my first preference (the lahore campus). Living in isb would be difficult for me. If I don't get into Fast, I'll probably join FC college.

And yes, FAST test seems easier, only English, Mathematics and analytical questions. NUST even takes chemistry (apart from phy, eng and math) for CS test. :S

you talking about BCS or BSCS ?? both are different from each other, BCS is of 2 years whereas BSCS is of 4 years.Fast is the best private sector university for Computer Science and in government sector it is UBIT Karachi University.

well i.a you will but try to improve it in 2nd year, also in UBIT, you have to score 50% above marks in their test.Test is conducted by NTS.
