I can't fathom why Asimov is so hard to find in Karachi. I've only found the Prelude to Foundation yet. :/

Fking John Grishams, Greenes and Dan Browns. The world needs more Asimovs.

Karach!
I have a 13 hour flight coming up soon. Any good reads for inflight entertainment?
Get "Alive:The Story Of The Andes Survivors by Piers Paul Reed", the true story of the plane crash survivors who's plane crashed on the snow capped mountains of andes. Those who survived the 72 deadly days until rescue came to them stayed alive by eating the flesh of dead passengers. Its such an interesting book that you wont notice the 13 hour flight and just in case your own plane crashed to some uncharted mountains or plains then this book will also be your guide to survival.

Big Rock Candy Mountain.
The Devil's Dictionary
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll look into it, seems a bit too 'wordy' and a bit depressing from some of the definitions I have read.

Seems interesting and quite fitting lol. Lets see.

I was thinking about picking up something by Bertrand Russell. I read a part of his work in a some book by Christopher Hitchens and it read well.

It's quality sarcasm coming from a pessimist.

Most of Russell's work is on the subjects of philosophy and mathematics which naturally can become a drag after a point (to take nothing away from the great writer). So while he is probably one of the most lucid and readable writers on these subjects, you have to have enough interest in these matters to be able to read through.

Alternatively, you could try getting your hands on some of his sociological/political works as you might find them more relevant.

At any rate, there is only wisdom to be gained from this man.

Im representing a book my friend has written which is about 146 pages set in Lahore on the last few days of 2013.
Its funny, intelligent and HAS a lesson for all of us.

Look at it if you love to read or if you need a good laugh. In fact read it if you want an adventure cause that is what it is.

Enjoy

you're more generous than you look
I know. I'm awesome.

While you're here on this forum, post on topic.

Keep your needless, pathetic opinion about the people here to yourself.

If you don't like this thread, feel free not to post anything here

Ah this is what i love about pakistani's jumping to conclusions without any prior evidence and wondering why we are where we are. True you are a mod but does that give you the authority to be rude ? Please show me how awesome you are in your reply.

Take your butthurt elsewhere

Just because no one's bothered to read some crap link you posted you're butthurt and making accusations.

"Apparently ppl at pak gamers dont read home grown stuff"

So yea..That's not gonna cut it here.. Either join the discussion, learn how the forum works, READ this thread or you know, take your butthurt elsewhere.

By the way, I did read the story written by "Rashid" and the story is grammatically weak, structurally pathetic, bland, boring and downright stupid. It has no structure, no character development, no plot points, even the basic sentence structuring is wrong and riddled with spelling mistakes.

0/10. Complete waste of time.

Again what is with the rudeness? That post wasn't directed at you personally and even if it was (which it was not) is your self-esteem that low? How old are you 12 ? Cause your sure acting like that. And can you please stop being so dramatic i feel as if i'm in a bad court room drama. I dont know what strict criteria there is to be a mod but looking at your conduct i have no doubt that it is very. But even then i'm sure honesty would be high on that list, so sir please dont lie when you tell me that you have read the book cause if you had the site would had shown it.
