i have read last few pages, and i will ask the question again :D

my budget is well, i need a 1ton ac, which uses the least electricity. it would be my first ac for the house so i want the best in low budget.

should i get inverter one or the normal on/off split ac? which one to buy? i know normal acs are little cheaper than inverter ones, but i am willing to get inverter if it uses less energy than normal one.
i have heard from varying comments from people.
some say different between both type acs is not that great, some say its day and night.

i know there are many users of ac here.
pls guide me properly if its true or not? is there really a difference? and if so how much for like 5-6 hours of ac use a day for inverter and normal ones?
thanks

There are definitely savings to be had but not by a huge margin. However, I'm told by some of the AC shop guys that inverters don't cool as well as the regular ones.

And don't ever get a Kenwood! I got one recently and returned it the next day as its cooling capacity was terrible.
Hi, I got a regular Kenwood 1 ton AC for an office a week back (on Saturday). When I turned it on on Monday, there was absolutely no cooling. Called the shopkeeper, so he sent the technician, and he discovered that the AC was out of gas so he filled the gas again and tightened the pipes to prevent further leakage. Now I've been using it for about 1.5 - 2 hrs daily everyday after that. But on Friday, the cooling was down again, I even tried running it on 16° after which I turned it to 26 for an hour but no use(usually I just run it for the first 15 mins on 16). Is it possible that the shop keeper will return the AC after a week? The warranty is only for parts and compressor but this thing didn't work from the start so I'm considering returning it today.

Orient ultron bold Kenwood And gree
Buy depending on your budget and requirements
Cheapest is Orient with amps going down to 2.4a for 1.5ton inverter
Almost same Kenwood and gree
And almost every one is happy with their inverter and bills
Few people have problems but every electronic have some percentage of going faulty so take ur pick depending on budget and buy

Guys looking to buy a 1.5 ton inverter AC.
I'm thinking of buying a Gree one but don't know which model/series. I heard good things about U-crown but can't find any of that on Pak's online sites. Any recommendations

Need suggestions for a 1.5 ton inverter ac in range of 80k, cooling, reliability and less electricity cost.
Please share prices and your experiences as well.
Thank you.

Bhai shared this here i think, dunno where my post went but posting again. Was in the same situation a month back, and decided to buy Kenwood glow 1.5 ton Inverter.

We were originally aiming for a Gree one. Then a shopkeeper told us that he was getting complaints for it leakeges etc. It could be that he didn't have gree AC's and wanted to sell kenwood stuff but anyways we decided to buy Kenwood. Later, we asked our electrician if and he told the same thing yes he had gotten a few complaints from people having Gree AC's regarding leakages. Anyways, Kenwood is running fine.

I checked amp usage. The AC starts at 6.0-6.4 amps. goes down to 4 in around 5-6 hours during day, and goes to 1-2 amps during the night.

Which model and how much did it cost?
and since its been a month, would you mind sharing the electricity usage & the number of hours used.

Btw I had a non inverter kenwood, it had no cooling what so ever and ended up selling it though my office has kenwood inverter and its cooling is quite good even at 24 too.

Model is KDC-1824S more commonly known as Kenwood eGlow 75%. Cooling is awesome. I don't even go down below 27C and it still cools alright and starts throwing cool air within a minute after startup.
We don't have electricity bill yet, will get it in around 1 week I guess.

Edit:- cost around 68-70 iirc. 1.5 ton

Brothers,

I have a room that faces severe sunlight as the room is on top floor. during noon hours the walls of my room radiate heat which gets the room temperature pretty higher. If you touch the walls during this time you wont feel warm, you will feel HOT.

Now, I want to install an AC in that room, as far as the size is concerned 1 ton is enough but keeping in view the temperature of room and walls I think it would be best if I buy a 1.5 ton AC. It will be inverter AC obviously. Please suggest me the following:

Brand
Where to buy from
What are the installation charges for a 1.5 ton AC

Fahad, I'm afraid there nothing can be done if use 2.5 tone ac or more tone. Mery sath b yahi scene tha last year. Walls get damn so freaking hot, even ac couldn't work during night. Also, wapda having fluctuation issue during summers. Better to sleep in a cool room temperature. Alternate if there any basement room in your house, use that room.

I can feel your pain, had the same exact issue, it was like being roasted in a tandoor until a house got constructed next doors and i got saved from all that misery, I how ever did get jet black tints on the windows, you can use some kind of shade to block the direct sun light and get some kind of insulation for roof to lessen some sun light.
