this problem started like a month back.
whenever my pc needed some processing power the cpu fan would start to make a lot of noise.
now from last two weeks this happens only on boot up.
i am not completely sure if it is the cpu fan that's making the noise or the power supply fan
if any1 knows anything about eh problem. please let me know.
the noise gets really annoying

Block carefully any of the fan with help of a pencil and start your computer. You can assess the result in few seconds. For example, you blocked CPU fan and still there is noise after starting the computer, it mean its not fault of cpu fan. Dont stop it while running but stop it first and then start the computer. Stopping any of the fan for 5~10 seconds will not harm the components. Once identified, change the cpu fan or power supply whichever is the culprit.

It happens on cold boot right?

Means your PSU is wheezing to keep up with the load at boot time. As long as it dont sound like a gannay ki machine when you're playing games or watching HD movies its fine... tho the day it starts doing so, SELL your PSU before it fries your system!
