Piracy group nearly gives up on cracking Just Cause 3

A major piracy group just about threw in the towel trying to crack Just Cause 3 on PC, and bemoans a future, coming very soon, where "there will be no free games to play in the world."
Who's to say if 3DM, a forum for Chinese pirates, really feels this way or is just waging a misinformation campaign, but it sounds like they really have had a lot of trouble with the anti-tamper technology Just Cause 3 uses to surround its digital rights management.

The founder of 3DM, in a post translated by Torrent Freak, said the group's cracking expert "nearly gave up" last week but was persuaded to continue.
"I still believe that this game can be compromised," wrote Bird Sister, 3DM's founder. "But according to current trends in the development of encryption technology, in two years time I'm afraid there will be no free games to play in the world."
Just Cause 3 uses Denuvo Anti-Tamper, which has kept it and FIFA 16, which launched back in September, crack-proof so far. In a statement to Eurogamer, Denuvo's marketing director boasted that protection has been so successful over the past two years that "some publishers are are even considering releasing console-only titles for the PC platform." Not everyone uses Denuvo for their PC titles because of the expense involved right now.
While given enough time, it figures that a determined pirate will eventually crack something, the question is whether they can do so in while the game is still relevant or if, by the time it's broken, gamers have forgotten about it.

It means that no free games in the future on pc. I love just cause 3 but after reading the above post there is no crack for just cause 3. very sad. but hope they will crack fifa 16 and just cause 3. Umeed pe dunia qaim he. 3dm please don't give up we all of with you.

this should be in gaming central none the less it's a great news and i am glad this is happening. Majority of gamers in pak don't even know if original games exist or not but i am sure they will after two years :).

It really isn't. As much as there adverse affects of piracy, there's also the fact that piracy is basically the only way to play some games that are not available anymore.

The preservation aspect of piracy will always outweigh all the negatives, imo.

PS : Not advocating piracy, fuck people who would rather steal something rather than paying for it.

Honestly...this new DRM tech will only affect new games. So the old games you're referring to can still be downloaded in unconventional ways.
But truth me told...almost all games are available on Steam...so one shouldn't defend piracy on the merit that "my game isn't available anymore".

just my opinion...

I do, however, believe you should pirate the hell out of a game that got a shitty port on PC. The publishers deserve to be snubbed back.

I'm not defending piracy itself, just the aspect where it helps to preserve games and no there are a bunch of games that are not at all available on steam or elsewhere and down the line when these services stop or when the servers for games that have always online stop, cracks will be the only way to actually play them.

Why would you want to pirate a game that is a shitty port? seems counter-productive lol
