My N5X ran out of charge last night and turned off. I have been charging it since using my Nexus Charger, but the only response I get is the notification LED flashes around 20 times and that too when I press the power button.

I attributed this to the low battery. I've used a different adaptor and tried charging it with a different cable but still no luck.
Everything (including the charger and the phones charging) was working fine up until last night.

its a random issue but has been reported on the nexus 5x...
its called the red led of death..
but dont want to scare u..
keep the battery cable plugged in and turn on the device hold the power button for atleast a minute or 30 seconds and see if it turn on..
otherwise and connect with the system and turn on
see if the system detects the mobile or not.
if yes there are chances it might come back to life..

and report back

Do this while the charger is plugged in (use the original nexus wall charger)

1) Leave the phone with the charger connected for around 30 minutes.

2) With the charger still connected, hold the power button and BOTH volume buttons for over 30 seconds, it takes a while for the screen to light up and then spring back into life.

Secondly, and this is very important, unless you're calibrating your battery, please don't let your batteries discharge to 0% very often. Lowest I ever go on my phones is about 15-20% and then I connect the charger.

Do try and report back. This same thing happened to my HTC One M9 during the few days that I had it, it just died and no signs of life until I tried this after reading up on XDA and it worked.

mave3 No luck bro. My laptop isn't picking up the device.
murtaza12 No luck either. Its been plugged in for about 3 hours now. Tried pressing the buttons for well over 2 minutes. Nothing.
My devices NEVER fully discharge. I plug them in when they're at 10% max. Kal raat susti charh gayi :/

Do you guys have any experience with HSN's warranty department?

I checked out their website and they've very conveniently written that they don't take responsibilities for dead phones even if they were under warranty. :/

Oh dear.... good luck to you.
Drop an email to their CEO explaining the case, be very calm and ask if there's anything that can be done. I can PM you his number if you want as well, quicker way to get in touch.

I read this on Google forums, try flipping the sides of the USB-C cable around, what I mean by this is, the side that's connected to the wall charger should plug in your phone, and the other end in the charger then. It actually worked for someone, so try it out.

^Already tried that. No luck.

Yes, any contact information of the CEO would be very helpful, thank you. murtaza12

@namsu99

Any help from HSN or have they turned a deaf ear to your problem?

Mailed em on Thursday, got a reply the same day and went and deposited the phone on Friday.

Abi tak they've emailed me once and called once asking for more time as their "Repair Department is still testing out the device".

Fingers crossed.

Sorry guys!
Completely forgot about this.

So my Nexus 5X died. Spoke to HSN and they narrowed down the fault to a faulty Power IC and repairing that meant changing the entire motherboard.

After a month long discussion about who should bear the loss for this (the phone was under a repairs warranty from HSN), they offered me a 44% discount on the Huawei Honor 5X - which I accepted.

Its been about a month I've been using the Honor 5X. Its a great phone but obviously no match for the Nexus.

I was in contact with Shayaan Tahir (CEO of HSN) throughout the ordeal. He's a good man; ready to help and really knows how to cater to his customers. That cannot be said for the rest of HSN staff, however. I had to suffer long delays in processing and even getting replies to my emails when talking to their CS Staff and usually had to resort to calling Shayaan.

A bit of advice for anyone who may read this in the future:

I don't blame HSN for the defect in my Nexus - It really isn't their fault. They buy phones in bulk and then sell them here. They are just as much aware of whats inside the device as you are when you buy it. I am, however, surprised that they offered me the discount on a new phone which really wasn't something they were obliged to do.

Anyway; just keep in mind that if you're buying anything from HSN, make a note that the manufacturer of your device has a presence in Pakistan if you want decent after sales services. HSN's own repair-warranty is pretty much useless so if you're buying a phone without a manufacturer's warranty, you're essentially buying it without warranty.

That's all from my side.

Thanks for all your help guys! Ya'all are the best :')

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
