LOL I just randomly added up a MDB song from the new album. I found this so just posted it along. But dude I found the album not that bad. Well at least from me. I don't know about you but maybe you are into the "aggressive and more poetic" MDB which clearly lacks in the album. Songs like For My Fallen Angel are not the type found here so maybe you just repelled instantly.

APD was founded back in 1993 with a classic band line up and was quite active in the German death metal underground at that time. Already at this time the band classified its sound as a mix between melodic Gothenburg death metal and melancholic British doom death metal. Plans were made to record the debut album in 1997. But the band split up right before the recordings. The only audio clips left from this time are three songs which eventually were about the be used as bonus tracks, hence been amalgamated in this debut album. After the split up, songwriter, guitar player and singer Kristian "Kohle" Kohlmannslehner concentrated on his work as studio and live musician. 3 songs were made in 2005 which marked the new beginning of APD.

'The Ghost and She slept beside me' these two songs are merged together in this release. i heard this snippet back in late 2005 on radio and loved the tune but at that time i was unfamiliar with the band. talked with Canberreans 'bout the snippets but no one had any clue, even big music retail shops like "Jb-hifi, Dicksmith etc had no idea on this. Just came across this release few days back and enjoyed listening to it. 'Until You Bleed, For You…Forever,The Ghost She Slept Beside Me & Composition in Black are THE BEST TRACKS.

Kyau & Albert (or sometimes known as Kyau vs Albert) are a Berlin-based duo that have gained a following in dance and trance music and are also known for founding one of the strongest trance labels in Germany, Euphonic. Most of K&A’s output over the years hasn’t been terribly amazing. Sure, it’s all wonderfully produced, with plenty of reverb to make it sound big and impressive and shiny and emotionally evocative. From 2002~2009 the definite collection is here to prove their stability and control over trance synths likes of "Made Of Sun", "Velvet Morning", "Walk Down", "Kiksu" and "Are You Fine?". This is definitely a good compilation of original and remix versions of pure trance flava one need to get if one is looking for something positive and upbeat for a day out on a hillstation or just a simple night out in town.

Pros:

Ahmad, My Dying Bride’s sound has been fairly consistent throughout the years. Ironically this album they tried a different approach ... a formula of being consistent with rather long songs that are somber, dark and melodic yet somehow still heavy. Their usually mid-tempo to slow pace guitars riffs with heavy chords helps emphasize the gloomy mood of their songs + an intro of violin, a reprise in this case is exciting. Vocals are impressive as usual in this record. i will say this release is above average comparing of what they had preciously 'Line of deathless kings'.

cons:

lack of aggression not a trademark of MDB, one can feel in most of the tracks .. (guitar and growling .. a decline in both dept.)

so it means .. i should've added "MDB drifted away from pure Doom and kept their music flow b/w Alternative & Goth. know what Doom metal is? but if u'll listen the whole album of MDB you'll notice the same thing i've had in my review.
