Need some advice here

Ok so i'm currently doing my BBA from LSE (lahore school of economics) and have an ok GPA of 3.5 but it fell from 3.65 due to 1 specific subject so i'm confused now if I should repeat the subject and improve my GPA or if I should keep going with it.
The reason for asking is because if I repeat the subject i'll not be able to get on the deans honor list(which is above the 3.6 tier or so)

So what i'm asking is basically if a better GPA holds more value than being on the deans honor list.

Just another certificate that the dean acknowledges you were in the top students in your respective year

actually I think that having the dean's honor certificate holds more value than 3.5 or 3.6 cpga...no one is gna deny that we wont give you a job because of ONE point..on the other hand saying "Top student on Dean's honor list" on C.V looks nicer

I agree with Wajhi that Dean's Honor List will look better on the CV

Also u should know "Honors List" and "GPA" will not matter after ur first job

If that bad grade subject is core to your degree and would be essential in securing you a specific job of your choice, it would be advisable to repeat that specific course and aim to score higher.

Speaking from an engineering point of view, Telecom companies would prefer a graduate who scored well in Communications (analog/digital/wireless) related subjects. They would rarely ever hire someone who has 'D's' in the said subject despite being in the Dean's Honor's list.

At your level, it would be best to aim for the Dean's Honor's list. It would definitely give you an edge, like Wajhi and hasanJ have said.

I'm doing a major in marketing and the subject i'm talking about is Pak economy so hopefully it doesn't matter that much.

[MENTION=23381]zainnaeem[/MENTION]: it depends. Where do you wanna apply after graduation...if its some prestigious mnc, then even in pakistan its preferable to be on the deans list. Certainly a BIG plus if youre talking abt places like NBP PnG Unilever large pvt banks etc etc...your 'bad' grade isnt in a core or major subject right? If this is the case then try forget abt it. Otherwise go for the gpa.

Wouldn't repeating a course automatically disqualify you from getting into the dean's honor list?
You got the required GPA, but by repeating (not in the first attempt)
For example even if you get a 4 CGPA by repeating courses you wouldn't get a gold medal, and the guy who has a 3.8 CGPA will be considered a topper because he hasn't repeated any courses (in his first attempt)
You should check with your university before considering repeating as this is the case in most universities.

Yes this was exactly the problem thats why I asked here if the grades or the list mattered and well i'm probably gonna try to be on the list now, rather than repeating
