Hey guys, I recently bought a mobilink Sim as a 2nd Sim for my Motorola moto g(dual Sim variant). I have a telenor number and a mobilink number running on the phone. I bought the mobilink Sim just for 3g, but ever since I've bought it, my 3g speeds have been really bad. It doesn't even work most of the times. I'm running on official android lollipop 5.0.2

The weird part is that the speeds on telenor 3g on the same device are through the roof. I've tried the following things:
1. Restarting the device multiple times
2. Changing and resetting APN settings
3. Tried reaching customer care services, to no avail
4. Switched Sim card slots, mobilink to Sim 1(currently running on Sim 1) and telenor to Sim 2
5. Setting preferred connection mode to 3g
6. Googled the issue, no luck

I took some screenshots for comparison at 3 different time intervals

Any help regarding this issue will be highly appreciated! :)

Telenor speeds through the roof???
please elaborate that? is it good or bad?

I also had moto g dual sim some time back, I had been using telenor as voice and zong as data sim and never faced any problem.
Please be sure you are in a good coverage area. Try the same sims on a different handset.
As far as i Know mobilink have some Lite/Heavy packages, their max data rates may be different.

Through the roof meaning that I used to get a score of 4.0mb while on download, checked by speed test. I'm using telenor for voice on Sim 2 so I really don't know why my mobilink Sim is giving such low speeds. I've tried checking it in every area in Lahore. Never works higher than the screenshots given :/

so i assume that with both sims installed, u are able to get good speed on telenor sim and bad speeds on mobilink sim
to me, it seems problem with the mobilink network
With the mobilink sim installed, have to tried speed check with telenor sim as data sim? what was the result? good or bad?

mind you, only one of the sim1 or sim2 can be used as data sim in moto g dual sim... i doesn't matter which slot

why dont u try some other non-mobilink sim and see the results

I suspect you are using some speed capped package of mobilink 3g

- Mobilink - Har Dil. Har Din.

you can see that 3G Monthly - Lite package costs Rs 150 with 5GB volume while 3G Monthly - Heavy costs Rs 400 with a lesser volume i.e. 4.5GB
I cant even find 3g coverage map on mobilink site

Yes, I tried using telenor 3g and had good results with it, and on this phone, only Sim 1 can be used for 3g. But even so, mobilink 3g hasn't given me any speeds at all. I'm using the 150 rupees package, the lite one. One of my friends is using it as well, he gets a download speed of around 3.8mbps on the speed test app. I'm stumped, really don't know what to do :/

if you have xt1033 (moto g dual sim 1st gen) then any one of sim1 or sim2 can be used for data at a time (not both concurrently)....depends which one u have selected for data... I am positive about it as I have been doing it... If it is 2nd gen moto g, I can't say about that but I'm pretty hopeful it too would have inherited the feature from 1st gen moto g..

I still doubt ur friend is getting 3.8Mbps on the same Lite package, please double check his package might be different

I have all my doubts that mobilink can offer full 3G monthly package with data of 5GB for a mere Rs 150... with zong offering 500MB in Rs 150 and telenor 500MB in Rs 75 weekly such a generous offer by mobilink can easily throw all wimax operators in Pakistan out of business :)

most probably, it is the speed cap of your selected package that is causing u the problem...Try a zong or telenor sim in place of mobi sim (or subscribe to Heavy or Super package of mobilink) and hopefully ur problem will be over..cheers

Well I just called my friend up, he checked his speed test, download speed was 3.5mbps. He's been using this package for over 2 months now.

I guess I won't know what the problem is. I'll try subscribing to another package.
Thanks for your help bro :)
