Hi!

I need a UPS for my rig that can power my rig for the periods of long load-shedding, which also must be a pure sinewave. I am willing to spend up to 100K, but it must be reliable and should last me 2-3 years.

What are your views on this inverter with this battery? Will this combo last me 1+ hours with one hour of charging?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Well, I'll add in what little I know.

First off, why're you spending so much on an inverter anyway? It's not like modified sinewave damages your PSU or anything. I've been running my rig (specs listed in my profile) on an APC 1.5 KVA Smart UPS for 1 whole year without problems.

If you need longer backup, just get an APC smart UPS with slots for external batteries. If you can't find one like that, then I'm sure someone in hafeez centre can directly wire the external battery wires to the APC UPS for you.

Also, the battery you picked out is fine, but the last time I checked, 200AH dry batteries were around 30k. But this must be more expensive because of the brand maybe?

This post is just my opinion, and you should wait for a few replies by members more knowledgeable regarding these matters than me.

Here are some sellers I just got off their site:

You can go to APC's site and do a more thorough search. Also, Murshad is also selling a couple of APC UPS's though they seem a little banged up, so I dunno if you'd go for them.

Does your UPS restart the PC when it is on full load, like if you are playing a high end game and light goes does your UPS keep it running for 5 minutes or so without interruption. Cause I am using Homage UPS with 2 200 AH and still my PC restarts so I guess a ghetto setup wont work for OP.

Nope, it's a server grade UPS. It doesn't restart the PC. It keeps it going on full load for about 20 minutes, and for around 1 hour while watching movies and stuff, and for more than 1 hour 30 minutes with the LCD off (downloads and stuff going on).

The reason your UPS restarts your PC must be because of slower switching times. UPS's made for PC's (even the cheap UPS's) don't allow the PC to restart as long as the load is within their VA rating, since that would defeat the whole purpose of a UPS.

The setup won't really be ghetto, it's just a couple of batteries soldered to where the original battery connections are.
