[NBA] R9 290 for 29k or any other GPU?

r9 290 is a powerful graphics card.
Though you can try and get GTX 970 but that will be a bit expensive.
Stock cooler or custom cooler? if stock cooler than you need to get the price down a little bit for custom cooler not a bad card

Go for GTX 970 then. You'll get one around 35k.
I guess there won't be much difference in prices. This is Pakistan.
I know a premium seller here on PG, selling r9 290 so you I can suggest him if you want to buy it.
Also you'll be needing a powerful PSU for 290.

Gtx 970: 145 watts vs r9 290: 300 watts.

GTX 960 runs a lot cooler than the 290.
Also got a better driver support.
i was in same dilemma a week back, got a good deal for a 290x and went for it, for me GTX 970 was around 7-9k more expensive
right now can't share that
but rest assured it was lucrative purchase, i might put the card on sale here once i get it my cost savings were due to saving in shipments (its being hand carry to Pakistan) and few rebates 
get a 970 with your eyes closed. it has low power consumption, runns fine on a 550w psu. Also is latest and has great driver support.
If you still want to get a 290 or 290x, you will have two benefits: You can play games like 970 but in addition to that ->
in winters you can heat your house with the card.

People don't understand that 290 or 290x will cost much more in the longer run in terms of electricity bill. Not to mention you would need a new PSU for it.
Nobody here mentioned a 960. He has budget for a 970 so getting a 960, 290, 290x is pointless.

The gameplay is generic & outdated in that game. And it's 5 hour campaign is too short to enjoy.

BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

L LegacyGamerGuy:Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
