My freind wants to buy graphics card.his budget is 12k.i have radeon 6770 and have bad experience with it.it is too buggy.so i have suggested him to buy nvidia.now plz suggested me some good nvidia graphics card in that budget.i have suggested him 550ti but i am not sure.his power supply is 450 watt and 28apm on 12v rail.

If it is 28a on a single +12v then it most probably would be enough. Mention the PSU Brand name and if possible post an image of its sticker. Also 550 is a gud choice in 12k if you want to buy a new product and only want to go for nvidia. but make sure you get a good brand i.e Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI. Other than that if you can give an Ati another chance then 7750 might also surprise you.
games hang with it after 1 hour of contiuous gameplay.and sometimes even after 10 minutes of gameplay.it does not happen regularly because sometimes i can play for hours without any error.but when it happens it is so annoying.i have this issue with almost all games.that is y after my bad experience i have recommended him nvidia

he has used 8800gt with this psu.will this not be enough for 550ti.28amp on 12 rails are ok i think?
Might be the GPU heating problem. I faced the same problem with my graphics card 8500Gt 4 years ago
Open up your card and check the fan. Might be hard as mine was.
Open up the fan and clean it up. I oiled it and it was working fine

Gtx550ti is not the same card bro. It will need 6 pin connectors that ur friend's power supply won't have. It's better to buy a new power supply..
or a used power supply...

That issue is related to your PC's own malfunctions hence there was no way to under-estimate the HD 6770/5770 gpu and if your friend is looking for a decent gpu in 12k I suggest him to go for GTX 550Ti or HD 6790
