My First Raid! :D

Well i just ran Karazhan a few days back and now this morning we just Cleared Magtheridon's Lair and Gruul's Lair!
I must all of these runs were freakin' EPIC!
The boss battles especially.
Bringing down a boss with 2.5 Million HP can be a tough job but that's why it requires a 25-Man Raid (Kara is 10-Man).

I'll start of with Kara.
Karazhan is Medivh's (the Crow prophet guy from WCIII) home/tower.
It's located in Deadwind Pass and is a 10-man Raid for Lvl 70s.
I ran it on thursday although my ineternet died in the middle i got to kill the last boss and many others too.
The last one was an Eredar (the kind of guy Archimonde was) called Prince Malchezar.
It was a really hard fight but we took him down on the second try.

We one-shotted Gruul's Lair and i got my T4 Pants off Gruul too .

Next came Magtheridon.
Man was he hard!
Boasting over 2.5 Million HP and some really strong attacks he was one tough Cookie to crack!
Took us 3 tries to bring him down.
But it was worth it.
Really fun fight!

Be glad you didn't have to face Karazhan when it was first launched. We were the 17th guild in the world to clear Karazhan and we did it 26 days after The Burning Crusade launched (the 26 days included getting from 60-70, running 5 mans and Heroics to get gear and then killing everything else in Karazhan).

Nightbane used to be an impossible fight. You know those skeletons that spawn in the second 'flight phase'? They each used to have an immolation aura that would hurt you for 800 a tick. It took us 4 days of non-stop attempts to bring the bastard down.

Same is the case with Magtheridon. He is now a shadow of his former, un-nerfed self. Back in the day, his controllers could hit tanks in the upward of 8-10K white damage. And the control cubes? If you used one, you could not use it for another 2 minutes. This means that there would be 4 rotations of 5 people each (that's 20 people out of the raid), that no one could die (or the rotations would get screwed), and no one in the entire raid could slack off or underperform.

We are currently working on Sunwell, and all instances before feel like child's play now...

That being said, I am happy that you are enjoying your newfound glory in TBC raiding. I wish you all the luck in the world. Wait till you get to the T5 instances!

The latency is 500ish but no lag.
Yea i raid US Time.

donot spend your BOJs, u'll get better items in raids... BTW i also play wow lvl 70 druid full epic with 3 t6 items (head, gloves and chest)... but i play on cracked server...

Meh already Spent my BoJs.
Had no use for them since i'm now a Jewelcrafter.
Anyway it's easier to do raids in Private servers since they're heavily nerfed!

but before i start...is it extremely addictive?once i start i can't quit

Lol not that much but it is quite addictive.
The first few levels are boring as shit but once you get to 30 the fun starts!
Make Atif and Rafay run you through instances till you hit 30

Elementium isn't easy to get by. If you are in Blackrock, then you are around level 60. Do you not have the TBC expansion?

Elementium Ore drops from Goblin Technicians in Blackwing Lair (BWL), which used to be the most difficult 40-man raid pre-patch 1.8 and the advent of Ahn'Qiraj (and subsequently Naxxaramas). At 70, you can probably 8-10 man it. The drop rate is very low, you will likely get about 2-3 Elementium Ore per full clear of BWL, and then you gotta wait a week for it to reset. You combine 10 (yes that is ten) Elementium Ore to create 1 Elementium bar. So as you can imagine, it is a pain in the ass.

That is no longer correct as of patch 2.4 and Sunwell going live. The items that drop in Sunwell, while not necessarily associated with 'Tier 7' are of superior quality than Black Temple and Mount Hyjal Tier 6 drops.

It is addictive if you let it. It rocks once you get past the leveling phase and have a good team to run instances with. I have been playing with the same 30-man crew for the last 4 years (since Beta in summer 2004). They are all rock-solid players and it is a blast to play with them.

I play roughly 10-15 hours a week tops. It can get pushed to about 20 hours if we are woeking on a new instance. But every second is a ton of fun. Add in the fact that we conduct voice communication through Ventrilo, and you got yourself an 'addictive' little package.

I'd say try it on private servers before you make a monetary commitment. Remember it costs $16.23 (adding tax) a month to play. That is roughly 1250 Pakistani rupees a month. Also add to that about $50 for getting the original WoW and its expansion TBC.

Yes, I'm playing with hasan nowadays. I tried with hunter first, though he is excellent at range but quite poor in the hp, melee and in escaping. I started off with a Blood Elf Mage now. For now i'm going for Alchemy and Herbalism. Lets hope this profession is all worth it.

For raids, level 70 is one thing, you need to have a good gear as well.

i recently started playing wow on free server. i have a lvl 26 Night Elf Durid so far. i would love to party if anyone like but be warned im a noob ;P

I'm impressed how much you know about lvl 70.
BTW i suggest you continue with your hunter, when you get to lvl 10 you can train a pet which will do most of the dirty work for you.
Later at lvl 40 you get to wear Mail Armour so HP wont be a problem.
As for Melee, a hunter is not meant to be good in melee.
Plus, they are a very good class for startes if i hadn't made a lock trust me i'd be a hunter now

The Dreadnaught Armor set iznt that well armored but most lvl70 warriors r wearing it
The Onslaught Armor iz awesome if u have the entire set but highlevel armorsmiths can also craft superior armor i think

Currently im wearing the 7 Pieces Imperial Armor Set now im thinking about making a Felsteel Armor Set but Outland iz too damn scary

^Dude Outland doesnt need any gear check.
Hellfire is easier than most Azeroth places and all the gear you get will become useless aretr about 2-5 quests.
SO take my advice and run to OL as soon as you hit 58!

P.S Lv 61 already 0o.
I hit lvl 61 in 3 months!

it isn't upto quality like wow retail, but no lags... i would love to play on retail server any day but 1250 is too much for me
