Content mein improvement ka tou game khel kar hi pata chalay ga, but the streaming tech is oh so good, and benefiting gameplay, unlike in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. A shame that "game-changing" RT can't be disabled in any mode now 🤷‍♂️ :LOL:

Nahi, metacore se bhi pata chal sakta hai. BG3 followed up ToTK's 96 with a 96 of their own. Can this "oh so good streaming tech" do the same? We'll find out soon enough 🤜😂

Chain these with swings and wind tunnels strategically placed around the city to get to your next objective quick
And we do that with swinging, where you can build up the speed depending on where you're released and stuff like that. That's really player-driven, but also with the web wings, the wind tunnels really push you along, and that's something that we can offer them and take advantage of, giving the player something new and interesting to scout out in the world and plot their course a little bit.
Speed achieved with wind tunnels are all pre-defined locations in the world, not player-driven.

@iampasha plz don't oversell powaa of mythical ssd 😛

Traversal is 3 times faster with the slingshots that are in pre-defined locations. General traversal with the web wings is still faster than in previous Spider-Man games :LOL: 🤜

Also, even with the slinghot, you aren't on-rails or being guided in linear fashion like in Ratchet :LOL: 🤜

I mean, general traversal is faster with the web wings, so just because the fastest option exists in limited areas, it doesn't change the fact 🤷‍♂️:LOL:

Moreover, catapults are literally everywhere. There's no place you can't travel to using them. Only a few catapults are stronger slinghots, and those are strategically placed on certain rooftops :LOL:🤜

There are no fade outs. It's a testament to how great Insomniac Games' LOD tech is, and the fast IO is leveraged to be able to load all that data in quickly as the camera pans down and control is transferred to the player.

They pan the camera when enough loading is done to begin the transition. There's no point in waiting for all of it to load when much of the data can be streamed on the fly. Think Necrokiller, think :LOL:🤜

It's developer controlled. Only possible where developer wants you to use it. Wonder why those speeds just couldn't be allowed in general. Not to mention, even those developer controlled spots are not allowing anywhere near the speed that was originally showcased in the PS5 on stage SSD demo in SM. Oh well.

Wow Necrokiller found a bug in the original Spider-Man's enemy AI routine, that too from the awful stealth section featuring Mary Jane. Bravo! Now think of all the brain dead instances of AI that I shared in the Cyberbug 2077 thread :ROFLMAO:

Catapults are scattered all over the world map. There's no section that is deliberately preventing you from using it. Only the strongest catapults are limited to a few areas 🤷‍♂️:LOL:

I couldn't tell you. I don't have the game's performance profiler open in front of me to see whether it's due to an IO limitation. Perhaps the strongest slingshots are intentionally limited to areas with less nearby assets that can easily be streamed, or perhaps it's simply a design choice to ensure that getting from point A to B doesn't become trivial. Would also make the game shorter and quicker to beat 🤷‍♂️

That was using PS4 quality assets from the first game, and its purpose was not to show how fast traversal in Spider-Man 2 would be. The point you should be focusing on is that even with Spider-Man 2 being a game developed for the PS5 from the ground up with higher quality assets compared to Spider-Man Remastered, general traversal is faster. It was blatantly evident from the gameplay reveal at the PlayStation showcase :LOL:🤜

This is without even considering the pop-in that is visible throughout and far from the "pop-in free" streaming that CerebralTiger was hoping for LMFAOOO!
Nobody, not even Insomniac, claimed that the game would be pop-in free. There are other bottlenecks associated with that. Data isn't just being streamed in, it's also being drawn by the GPU. But what's impressive here is that even with the higher quality assets and faster traversal, pop-in isn't worse than in the first game (probably a bit better, in fact). And it's stutter-freeee :LOL:🤜

    Nah man. RDR2 is in a league of it's own. That game is special. Brilliant storyline & characters. Ghost of Tsushima is also a good game, but it's story isn't all that great IMO. It's gameplay, sidequest & combat are really good though.
