Got it in Blue over the weekend. Bought OOT and Super Mario 3D. Both amazing games. I hadn't owned a Nintendo console in 20 years and this one is well worth it.

I have a question though, is the 3DS region locked? Also, anyway to access the eshop?

welcome to the dark side of the moon :wink2: and yes 3ds is region lock and you can use eshop from 3ds only but can chesk stuff on wiki or nintendo clubhttp://www.nintendo.com/3ds/downloads/

now onto your questions unfortunately the only bad thing i hate about the 3DS is the region locking i got a pal one and i cant even get the damn things games easily here coz mostly they carry us region games here ntsc 3ds games

secondly you just need a wifi connection and connect ur 3DS to the internet make ur nintendo account online from pc and link that to ur 3DS make sure to make the account from that region which your 3ds is off !

after making your account you can easily access E-SHOP i think you can't browse the Eshop without first linking your nintendo account

to make your account go here Country Selector at Nintendo select ur 3DS region and make one !

So, I can buy games online? Like full titles? Right now I linked my account to the UAE but all the games there seem to be unavailable online.

Well which region is ur 3DS ? im assuming since u linked it to an UAE account its region 2 aka pal, than ur in the same boat as me

i usually get games from playasia or get mine exchanged from kiran zone, guy knows me there and he usually exchanges them for a mere 500rs etc...

other than that u can check out other game shops in defence, in H block THERE ARE quite a few now.

try to get a US account linked but since its region 2 getting a UK account linked would be best but the online full retial games cost are actually more than the retail games yeah.......

you can check the pg marketplace a few ppl are selling it there, price for 3DS should be anywhere from 12k to 15k.

Got the mario kart one in 22.5 k so went with that as it has one 3d game installed on it.Also blue one was on 4.41 version while red was on 5 something

software versions do not matter. they can be updated via going on wifi easily.

mariokart on the memory card once deleted cannot be redeemed back either... ofcourse you won't be able to sell it either asewll since its digital...but good for you i guess if your happy.

^I know firmware is upgradeable.We needed 4.4-1.0 u version or less on which gateway flash cart works. Flashcart cost is 8000 though plus costs of 1 gb sd card per game is needed

Hello i just bought a 3ds on 13 november its version is 1.1.0 and i need a game ''donkeykong country returns" for my 3ds so i can upgrade it to 4.0.5 and so i can use the flash cart . i live in Multan so where can I buy it

you dont need to make it 4.0.5 to play gateway it should be below 4.5
