I want to know about the difference in the LCD & LED moniter & the abrivation of LED moniter

& one more thing i want to in the LCD's

when ever you check the specification of lcd or led there's writen

1000:1 or 5000:1

& one more thing

2ms or 5ms
&
pixel pitches = 0.287 or something

plz need help i m want to buy a lcd or led just want to know which one is best of gaming

but wat is the mean of 2ms or 5ms in lcd's

the 2ms and 5ms you see written on lcds is gray-to-gray response time. this usually represents the time it takes from the lcd switched off to full brightness. what you need to know if you play games is that 2ms is probably the lowest you will need - you won't see any ghosting.

also, whilst LEDs are definitely better compared to LCDs, they will be more expensive and the only time you will notice the difference is when you're playing Blu-ray discs. My recommendation (if you have a decent rig and a half-decent graphics card) would be to go for an LCD with a higher resolution (at least 1920x1200) with higher contrast. It'll save you money and there's no comparison when it comes to higher resolution.

recommendation: stay away from viewsonic. pretty crap compared to samsung. what's your budget for the lcd?

I dont think Samsung is crap. I have 5 Samsung 2232BW (which is considered to be the best 22" lcd by samsung in local market) and also have a viewsonic 24" lcd (dont remember the model). I havn't found any significant different between the two. Yes the build quality on Samsung is much better but the added screen size and budget friendly price weighs in the favor of viewsonic

i have a samsung T260HD and a T220 at home. i had the viewsonic posted above at work for almost a year and switched to dell a few months ago. quite a significant difference in quality. honestly, the screen on my laptop was better than the viewsonic.

ohh, and i wasn't dissing samsung. i think they have probably the best quality screens around.

OK guys i own a 24" LED Display and have checked out quite a few LED displays from other companies, One difference is the dynamic contrast ratio, LEDs have a better DCR, But mind you, you can only enable it whilst watching movies, otherwise you will always feel that the brightness is too low, as for the picture quality LED and LCD HAVE THE SAME PICTURE QUALITY, the last diff is the power consumption, LEDs use less than half of the power required for LCDs.
