Lapping my e2180 and Silent Knight, well relapping btw!

Asalam Alekum PakGamers, today i was free so i wanted to do somethin interesting. What i did was dat i opened up ma case and got the lapped CPU and Silent Knight out, coz wen i had lapped it it was not a perfect mirror finish so i redid it.

Here are d pics dat i got before relapping, u mite think dat it wasnt needed but the cpu was not perfect at d edges and some spots had apeared on it as it appears wen a glass mirror becomes old.
And d silent knight really needed a relappin job coz it was too scrachy.

so here are d results after relapping, u can see wid d razor blade test dat d cpu surface is completely even, resultin in perfect contact wid d cooler

aite now for d Silent Knight for which i was really waitin to see a mirror finish coz d last time i cudnt get it.

And for those guys who hav done lappin and wud tell me that y i ddnt use wetsanding technique, well i hav to tell u dat d last time i did it wid wet sandin technique but it was far more time consumin but i cudnt get a good finish.
I also hav to tell u dat i went from 800-1200-1500-2500 Grit sandpaper the last time. And dis time for i went from 1500-2500grit.

And ya as far as temps are concerned i m not gettin good ones coz i m usin asus's stock thermal paste for i dont know may be for d 8 or 9th time coz i dont hav any other one. i apply it and den remove it and den reaply d same coz i dont wanna buy a new one, lol.

So d temps are nw like 35"idle and abt 45" load overclocked from 2.0 to 2.5 ghz. and still coz of d thermal paste.

I hope u guys like it and want your opinions.

@Nomi, well bro i dont really know wat d difference is coz i hav forgotten d exact temps before d lappin but i hav a good thermal paste i wud get abt 5-9" difference and i have checked dat on a lappin job i did on ma friends q6600, still i dont remeber d exact temps but he has a CM Sphere and it was abt 8" difference

@nomi, btw d thermal paste i used for his q6600 was Arctic Silver 5 dat he had bought from Ebay.

im replying to this only because i loved it...yaar whats the MAX grit sandpaper u went upto .... it could use some brasso polish....but remember to clean it off really good or it will interfee with the cooling

khair shine is just for aesthetic show off ....its the flatness that matters...which im sure it is

well i went till 2500grit as i hav also mentioned at d beginin and ya bro i cleaned it with alcohol and den used carnauba vax for some more shine, lol. and den again alcohol. coz i know it will affect the coolin. and bro can u tell me where to get d braso polish coz i mite need it on usin on metals for mirror finish.
And ya bro its completely flat coz u can see in d razor blade test dat no light can be seen from d baq although it was sunlight at d background, so it means dat its FERPECT

I never noticed this thread before. Job well done.... but it'd be better if you posted old temps before lapping. For me, lapping gave me 3-5C at best so I don't bother investing my time in it anymore.

@necrokiller, sorry for replyin too late, bro i did d first lappin job really long ago and nw jus wanted to make it better. so i ddnt hav d stock temps. but i remember that lapping shave like 6" from ma temps. well its not really recommended if u are jus a simple pc user. but if u are overclockin too hard, u can lap ur cpu and cooler to get that little extra advantage from it at the end. but i dnt overclock much, i did it jus for fun,

well here are d temps, which are too high. the reason for that is that i m usin asus's stock thermal paste for d 9th time (applyin, removin and again applyin d same thing). I hav also mentiond this earlier.
and btw d cpu is runnin at 2.4ghz instead of 2.0

good job mate. i tried lapping my Star Ice a while back. i didnt get a mirror finish like yours, couldnt find the higher grit sandpapers here. but there was a temp difference of about 2 celcius on load. which isnt much IMO.

well ya temps are really high coz of shity old thermal paste,
d thermal paste is nw as hard as an acrylic hahahah
