KHI: PTCL vs CONNECT vs LEONET.

Asalam o alaikum, all.

These recent price hikes by PTCL Broadband are really pissing me off.
No doubt the speed and connectivity is amazing; the tariffs are way higher than other ISPs.
Currently I'm paying Rs1250 for 1mbps package.

I recently discovered from a friend that in my area, CONNECT and LEONET are also providing internet, "ethernet wire wala".
Their packages are pretty decent. See here:

They're charging around 1500 for "installation charges" or we can buy our own wire and get it for free.

Now, should I change my ISP to one of these?
What are your comments on this?
I'll probably get 3mbps or 4mbps package but i'm not sure whether the speed will be upto the mark.

PS Please do mention torrents usage.

i am using connect 1 mb package for games and torrent downloads...the advantage of using connect net net is you get new games ..softwares..movies and etc on their server sites,,,,and torrent speed is 220kbs some times and average speed is 150kbs...i prefer go for connect

What's your location? Leo's office is in Clifton, so I suppose they would be covering dha too? If so, I'll also give it a thought since ptcl is really charging high.

True, yes. At my end, there's at least a downtime of 5 days combined every month. But it does come down to the provider in your area. If he is supportive and cares about his customers, you might be in luck.

i've used leonet.....there servers are awesome specially for live channels, movies and games.......but totally sucks services......ptcl is 100 times better then leonet......while don't know ab8 connect

from your post it seems you're getting good connectivity on pfrikkingtcl! that ITSELF is reason enough to stay on em... so what if theyre charging you more? If youre getting good enough pings (and youre a gamer) then stick with it. Do you know how many users here claim to have a stable ptcl connection? less then the no. of 3DO players on this forum

connect has placed a limit of 250 kbps over torrents so getting more than 2 MB for torrents is a waist however for direct downloads its very good i managed to attain a peak speed of 700 kbps over direct downloads on 4 Mb connection. Overall service is nice and after sales support is very nice.

Does this mean we'll get 250 kbps even when downloading from dodear....
I used to have 1-2mb/s but now im getting 100 kbps

I have never use leonet but i've had good experience with Connect, bad experience with PTCL so im gonna say connect.

tho' in last few weeks my online gaming experience is ruined because of huge packet loss in multiplayer games like dota2, csgo, don't knw if its a problem in my area only or something from connects backend

You have forget Fariya Network

I have used all of them... so i will give my oppinion

1) Connect: Smooth Fast and reliable (You might have downtime depending upon local operator) - Happy Hours in Night Times (Means you will get double download speed on torrent/idm, e.g: if You are on 1mb, you will get 2mb speeds late night. local sharing is good, HD Movies, Latest PC Games.

2) LeoNET: sharing is OK, have TV Channels. Internet Speed Sux

3) Fariya: Internet Speed they advertise is wrong in my opinion, On a 2MB connection, They advertise speeds as "256k to upto 2mb". I actually never gets 2MB in day timing but 1MB. They have multiple Sharing Sites, You can get HD Movies, Games from Local sharing. TV Channels available The best thing about Fariya is DC++ Sharing. Enthusiast Downloaders share their entire collection at DC++, From HD Movies to TV Shows, Games Collection, Almost everything which you can't find elsewhere. Some users has shared upto 4TB of Data
