The LS50w sound much better than the LS50 because even though they have the same speaker and enclosure, the LS50w has a DSP that eeks out more performance and fixes the shortcomings of the LS50:

Spot on bro DSP makes a lot of difference and everything is built in synergy to bring out the maximum level of performance I am happy for the fact that I am able to hear it the way it was originally designed

Yes using them as front stage in my HT setup. The sub is svs sb2000. LS50s have such a sweet sonic signature.
