Dude 2001-2007 mai takriban kisi ko windows installation nahi ati thi, aj bacha bacha janta hai window karna and now there are many awesome forums like PG,anandtech etc so even normal guys have deep knowledge about pc. and there is no age limit for studying and looking at current situation in world, i sincerely believe everyone should study in 2 fields so he can switch in future if he/she feel the need.

The more people learn about some certain stuff, the lesser value it has.
Take your example of Windows installation. PCs were new to most of the people back then and they didn't know shit about installation and stuff. I remember getting called to install Windows to quite a few homes in my neighbourhood. The process of installation hasn't changed much from back then, just that people are more acquainted to this stuff. Why waste a couple of hundred bucks when you can do it yourself while having a Zinger?

About the scope, it's a simple notion of Supply & Demand. Every third person I see is in the computer field today, one way or the other.
It's suffice to say that that field has reached its potential in terms of workforce. That's not to say you won't get a job if you're very good at what you do.

Computer institutes are surely a wastage of time. What they teach you there is just the simple stuff that you can do at home for free. This wasn't the case 8-10 years ago.
You don't learn how to throw darts at the target, you just practice and you'd eventually hit the bullseye.

IT is a very vast field. It is not limited to Web Designing, PC Trouble Shooting and Network Management. If you want to earn some serious $$ then learn some serious stuff. Also let me tell you one thing more that just learning something is not enough in this field. You'll have to keep on improving and learning more and more. IT is a very fast evolving industry. So what you have learned today will get obsolete in just some months.

IT is a really broad field. back in mid 90s to early 2000s most of us were new to this field and so many computer colleges opened to teach you windows and office but this was always going to be dead someday when people learn such things.

Pakistan's progress has changed , we haev progressed and introduced graduate and post graduate level programmes . people are in demand , good people with great technical skills can earn good money but back then it was different now you got to have proper degree and in depth knowledge. not a diploma.

As long as humans cannot automate the software development environment, the boom isnt going to be over. Everything revolves around software and with each passing day the case becomes more and more so. Perhaps its settled, but its not over.

I have also heard a few thing like this, but lots of new stuff(apps) have also arrived at the scene since the 90s. Still Computer and Software are the only field of education in Pakistan that can lead to self employment.

Obviously you cannot get rich working for others (Dont pay head to those 3-4 lakh wali jobs there are few in thousands and you don't know what means applicant used to get there) only with business you have a chance to make something good.

It is broader field. And I see no end to this field. Today every single business, organizations, government and private firms e.g are dependent on computers. Banks, hospitals, gov organizations you name it. You visit any office or place all of them are using and have to use computers.

When all of us can't do our daily works without computers how we can say the It boom is over? It's not over.
