You should buy that locally from Apple Authorized Stores and get local warranty with it, they charge 10-20k premium on each device depending on what you're getting and they can get you customized specs as well. You'll probably end up spending more than that on shipping and customs included and won't even get local warranty, look at Future Tech and Media Center (Both are Apple Authorized)

I work for a US company and they gave me Amazon Voucher of worth 2500 USD to redeem for a high end apple laptop. Apparently can't use the voucher here in local Apple Shop.

i paid PKR 6,500 customs tax on a $110 declared acer chromebook which was brought through DHL express
out of which 4000 was custom tax and rest i dont know why he charged me .....he said 40% tax but took more
and i would doubt in any part of the world would you be charged with 40% customs tax
stuff is cheap in USA but customs department is so freakin stupid that its better you but it from here locally....maybe mediacenter pakistan or ishopping?
or get it imported from our best amazon importer AMAGA/jshark (if you can wait a month)

Now adays customs are charging for every thing that lands in pakistan.

How did it come up to charging. They adopted the principal of I.C.G and they have now strong arguements on their custom charge.

$100 import or 10$ import, charges will be hit upto 65% on declared value.

No need to buy it yourself, just ask jshak or loydganks to import that for you, they will just take a minimal fee (including shipment charges and their fee).

Thanks bro. I am assuming it's 40% because => 25% Custom Duty x 16% Sales Tax =~40% (Just so I know for when/if I order something in the future InshAllah)

So After reading EVERY Post in this Thread.. One thing is for Sure..
1) More then 90% of the Time, You Will have to Pay Customs Be it a Package marked as Gift or even an Empty Box . :2cool:

2) There is Nothing like FREE shipping to Pakistan Unless you are EXTREMELY Lucky to get the Package delivered to your House but Even then I think you gotta give some Chai pani to the postman.. (2t)

So I ordered two car spare parts, although they were same company but they were shipped from a different location. The total cost came to 77 US Dollars. I just found out they were shipped through fedex and now I am worried. I remember having once experienced this big carriers and in terms of duty one is just left with no words. I would like to ask is there a way we can check or ask them to make sure we are paying right amount of duty?
