Playstation I'm planning on buying a Ps3 there are a few things i want to ask

1. Can the downloaded ps3 games be burnt on the the bluray disc since the dvd iso file ranges from 10-20 gb and be played on the ps3 console like how u burn the xbox 360 and burn it through imgburn or clonecd and play it on xbox 360

2. i know about the jailbreak i asked a person who works in a game shop he told me that the games on cannot be burnt on bluray they can only be jailbroken and be put in a external usb harddisk but if there is a new game and if there is update option than u have to click on it but than the jailbroken thing will not work my question is that the jailbroken thing does not work than can it be jailbroken again and if it can than will the new game work after updation

please help me out in any way u can because these r a few things i need to know about the ps3 i'm planning on buying it either from here or abroad so please help me out and answer those questions

I dont mean to crap your thread but may I know why you are not considering keeping the PS3 unmodded (keep it original and play original games)? That way, you will be able to make the most of the excellent online multiplayer experience that PS3 is so well known for. Otherwise, that won't be a possibility.

wasting 3000 to 6000 rupees on a ps3 game really isn't worth it plus if u end up hating the game u brought than it would be a waste of money its better to jailbreak and play it i found out some info from somewhere else also there is just one thing i need to know about the jailbreak ps3 that can u play original ps3 games just in case if u want to cause i heard that once u put new games in hard drive without a 3.55 fix than it will ask for an update and once u updated it than the jailbreak thing will be spoiled but what if we buy an original ps3 disc and than put it in will it ask for an update or will it work straight away on a jailbreak ps3

Bro the main reason that many people play PS3 with original games is BCZ of its online/multiplayer which is only playable if u don't hack ur PS3

I'm with Hussey... Jailbreaking a PS3 just isn't worth it. Online gaming and all the perks are just way more fun than just finishing story modes.
Eg. Black ops story mode = 10 to 15 hrs of game time, perhaps 30 or so if you go for the plat trophy.
Multiplayer + zombies = well over 100 hrs of enjoyable game time!

Unless you've really immersed into PSN online scene, or xbox for that matter, you don't know what you're missing.

Yes it will work, just make sure you never connect your ps3 to the internet. That's when it tries to force you to update, and besides sony's been cracking down on piracy, they'd rather disown their jailbroken ps3s... :hah:

The one thing that actually put the fun back in gaming was not being able to get pirated games for the ps3 lol believe it or not... On the ps2 i went through some 60 games in 2 years!
Whereas now you do your research, buy the games that are really worth it, and really squeeze every bit of fun out of it to compensate for that crazy price you paid for.
Still the cheaper the games the better for us, so 2nd hand games is the way to go and yeah rent them!

yes that's correct, inserting an original ps3 game won't make any problems on a jailbroken ps3 (usb fix). Your jailbroken ps3 will have to remain on a 3.55 version, otherwise if you update, the procedure is not that simple to revert, and you might have to pay for it to go back if at all possible. remember never to connect a jailbroken ps3 to the internet, and use default stock versions of games downloaded from a pc. that's about it i think, hope that helped! :wink2:

Well bro My opinion is to just buy a good gaming PC. because you can play pirated games on it and buy legit games as well but if you went for a ps3 only legit if you want to have any fun with it or modded option which will result in bricking(completely offline) you ps3. And not to mention you have to download games from the internet if you mod you ps3 which means u have to download 8 to 9 GB of games. My honest opinion is if you in Pakistan get a Gaming PC

Thanks for the awesome advice arch that was the only thing i needed to know and u cleared it up for me thanks my plan was to play games of the ps3 which i like downloading it and when a new game comes out and if its only out on ps3 as i have an xbox 360 and a good laptop and a fix for it hasn't been released yet and its taking a long time only than i will buy a new ps3 original game that way i can enjoy a jailbroken ps3 as well as play original games and is there anything else i need to know about the jailbroken ps3 please let me know i know about the internet but i don't really use internet on consoles i once used internet on my xbox 360 which is flashed it ended up getting updated and done no copied games ended up working i had to give it for modification than it worked but no thanks to the updation by the internet i couldn't jtag it , so thats y i avoid internet on consoles anyways thanks for your help

yeah but i grew up playing jrpg games back in ps1 i still play old jrpgs on my psp i even sometimes play japanese games on ps2 which were never released in english like tales of destiny i really loved that game played it while reading translations from the internet really enjoyed i don't really like call of duty games they don't thrill me a lot i like jrpg and even wrpg like skyrim but not as much as jrpg thats one of the reasons to y i want a ps3 but if i ever want to play online i can always break the jailbreak system and play it online though that might not happen but the 360 also has nice jrpgs also if u know any good jrpgs on the ps3 or the xbox 360 be sure to let me know or i'll aks u in the future right now all i need is to get a jailbroken ps3 thats all thanks for your help and u r sure that original ps3 discs work on the ps3 right i don't want to end up wasting money n than find out that it doesn't work and asks for updates just want to make sure

also there is just one last thing i need to ask that do u know of any tutorial wesbites or youtube perferbly or if u can tell me of how to put ps3 games on the external usb hard drive what needs to done and how do i put in psn files which contain extra features from various games i might put them in later on if i need for example the mass effect 3 extended ending if u can link me to a site which explains all of this or on youtube perferbly it would be really helpful i know its simple but i just need to know how to do it thanks in advance
