Hey man, I have also applied in IBA, but for BS(CS), and my test is on 14th July. Here's what I have been advised so far: Interview is just a formality and is perfunctory. If you have made it in the merit list, you are pretty much in. All you have to do is be confident (I know that sounds hackneyed, but it is the truth), and show them that you really are interested in getting in, and you know just a little about what you have applied for (in your case, BBA). Few common questions that you might face:
- Why IBA?
- Why are you interested in studying BBA/BS(CS)?
- Have you applied anywhere else?
- What if we reject your application?
Coincidentally, these are the exact same questions that I was asked in my SZABIST interview. Answer them preferably in English and don't bullshit. They have an interviewer present in the panel which is eminent in the field of study you have applied for. For example, I told them I knew how to program (computer programming) and they bounced a couple questions pertaining to programming off me. Thankfully, I was able to answer them right back because I really know how to program and didn't bullshit. Tell them about your extracurricular activities. Do not show disinterest or act as if IBA is your backup school. As far as group sessions are concerned, I have been told (by IBA students) that BS(CS) students do not go through them, so I really don't know much about them.
If you have applied anywhere else, be true about it. They know that more or less, all of their applicants have applied in other universities as well. Cajoling them by saying that you are in a "do or die situation" with IBA and haven't applied anywhere else will send off a negative vibe. After you have opened up, now is your chance to butter them up by telling them why do you prefer IBA over the others (remember: don't show disinterest, even if IBA is your backup school). For example, in my SZABIST interview, I told them I have applied to FAST, but then I refined by telling them why do I prefer SZABIST over FAST.
On to my question: Could you tell me a bit about your test? I know that tests for CS and BBA are dissimilar, but still, it'd be nice to get an idea of what appeared this year.
Edit: Check out a similar thread I made a while ago:
