A friend of mine got the HTC One X a couple of days ago. Here's the gist of the issue:

The Gist:
Battery ran out while updating the phone on Stock ROM. Phone is stuck in boot-loop.

Some Facts:
-The phone is not rooted.
-The battery doesn't seem to charge after this issue surfaced.
-The phone is stuck in a boot loop.
-I am able to access FastBoot by holding Power+VolUp.
-Friend took the phone to shops in Hafeez Center, they say that they know nothing about this error.
-If I can fix this brick, I'll get treated to a really nice dinner.
-The phone is S-Off. I don't know how that happened.

Calling all Android gurus JJDoctor abobobilly ASKnASK and anyone else I missed out.

Let me know if you want to know some other fact. I have tried browsing xda but to no avail. Apparently most people, excluding my friend, are wise enough to root a HTC phone the moment they buy it.

Side note: Thank God for Samsung and its Download Mode.

You are not entering fastboot its bootloader where u see fastboot recovery etc
Can u enter recovery (if so do factory reset from that )and what it show on top of that locked unlocked or relocked
If its locked or relocked go to htcdev unlock bootloader flash custom recovery through fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img) google for files
Through mount and storage mount usb and download any rom stock or custom off xda and copy that zip into ur internal memory and flash that with recovery

Yup, it's the bootloader I can access.
Thanks for the detailed response Cereberus. I'll try what you said. Does this require a certain amount of battery threshold? Because the battery isn't charging.

You're welcome
if u can enter recovery it might start charging in there
There is no other option. All u can do is first download all required adb fastboot files usb drivers( if u r not good with commands i got a easy fastboot method file in which u dont need to set location but i can send tomorrow)
Just try to do everything fast if battery is lower WARNA FACTORY CABLE chahiye charge k liye

In bootloader do factory reset.
or download RUU according to the CID number of your device and run it according to the instruction on xda website

Just grab the htc RUU and all is well
U get working phone and a wonderful dinner , people at shops are mostly jackasses ripping people off
try to do it yourself , its not that hard
if u dont have battery swap in another battery that is fully charged or charge your battery via external charger.
Good Luck n happy meals :)

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
