So I was just wondering if people have legally acquired guns at their home for self defense of course? I'm more interested in people living in Karachi, since you know the how is it here.

If you guys have it, can you tell me what's the whole procedure? Is it easy or a pain in the ass? Is there any chance you might get into some dangerous shit (even if you don't use it) even though you have the license and everything?
Where do you practice shooting it since there is no meaning in just buying and putting it safely in a locker, you should have enough practice to use it, you know get used to the recoil and other shit.

you cannot get a license now days unless you use some parchi, i got mine way back when i was working at Atrium which at that time was the only cinema and we used to have all high profile LEA people coming in so i got mine made back in those days through home dept so it was relatively easy for me

if you have license and 144 is imposed you cannot carry the weapon with you even if you have a valid license, you need a separate 144 permit, you need to make sure your license is always renewed, normally everyone have their own carrying preference, some likes a round in the chamber with safety on, i personally never chamber a round while carrying

PAF Korangi range i go to, there are other options as well.

Having said all this, i would say don't get it, having a weapon might sound cool and looks amazing on media but in real life it can get you killed, trust me on this when it comes to actually using your weapon when the time comes you can simply freeze, in my case i didn't had a clear shot and could have shot an innocent by stander so i fired in the air, did managed to save someone from getting robbed.

Like, how much? How much does it cost to get a handgun registered and licensed?
I would say models that could be had in the 40-60k's range back in the day are already priced at double that. Whereby back in the day the cost of the permit and the firearm combined came to 80k-100k. Now you would be looking at 150k-200k easily if the permits were allowed.

Plus the investment of learning to shoot it, a pistol is a difficult thing to aim and attain the target. With a rifle it's child's play give it to a kid tell them what they need to see through the sight and to hold their breath and within no time they would get a hang of it. But a pistol's aim needs to be learned over many 100 rounds on a single gun, change a gun and relearning to a great extent starts again.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
