1. Try not to go for HTIB because sooner or later you will realize you want an upgrade.
2. Try to invest in a good receiver and than build your system around it. Remember receiver would be the heart of everything so you might want to get a good one which will last you for some time.
3. Everyone have their own preference when it comes to sound, don't bother reading reviews go and hear on your own to make a judgement, few brands you want to check are: KEF, Klipsch, JBL, Polk Audio, Jamo. Each have their pro's and con's. I personally loved the Polks and therefore went for a Polk setup.
