High pings at night only, Share urs and Help each other

hi. i have PTCL issues, ping issues specifically.

can u guys check what pings you guys are getting especially at night? i get ok pings at day and shit ping over 400ms after 8pm till 3am in night, i.e peak hours.

i have talked to exchange people and several other ptcl headquarter people and my issue is not resolving at all since the past 20 days.

if anyone here plays online games, on PC, pls share what pings do u get at day times and what are those at night after 8pm. im sure there are many gamers here, so i expect some replies here.

pls help me and share as im about to disconnect my ptcl if its only me.

Welcome to my world. 20 days pffttt I have been trying to get those mofos fix the same problem since last 8 years. It's good that it has started happening in other areas as well. More problem in more areas mean more people will complain and eventually some will take legal action against these bunch of thiefs and robbers sitting on high posts in pottycl exchanges.

And yes we can take legal action because Broadband QoS Regulation of 2014 states that providers are bound to provide at least 60% of the bandwidth (downstream and upstream) for their advertised speed. And with the extensive testing I have done to solve point out this issue this problem only happens when there is a major bottleneck and you get only 5-10% of the connection speed.

Anybody knows the address of consumer court lahore?

High pings during peak timings and normal during offpeak is only the start of the problem. Give it a couple of months and browsing and download/torrents will slow down as well.

Pings I get to UK/EU during late night is 180-190ms and US is 290-350ms but during evening and esp at weekends afternoon and evenings ping increases by 100-200ms. At that time browsing speed slows down to 20-40KB/s and twitch/youtube won't stream without buffering every two seconds. At night after 3:00am it will stream 1080p without buffering and give 800-900KB/sec on 8mbps connection.

Perfectly fine. I had very good pings two months ago and then this happened. I also had my latency changed to Fast Path (error correction turned off) which used to give me good pings 24/7. The weird thing is that I still get 150ms pings on some BF4 Singapore servers but my pings to EU servers have jumped up. There are even 1 or 2 German servers where I get very low pings.

Fastpath/Interleaving has nothing to do with halving your connection speed. What's your internet package?

just last week i got call from PTCL headquarter (at least thats what he said) and he said he will switch my number to Fast mode. i got like 110ms ping in European servers.
i have recently got all my wire from my house to pole changed on my expense about 3 months ago, everything seems to be fine, the only issue is on fast mode or interleave, pings after 8pm got shit. around 400ms.
during day i get around 110-120ms on FAST mode and on interleave i get 160-170ms during day.

now, can u tell me how u got ur connection to fast mode? like was it permanent or just for time? also where to get it done to fast mode, and did u face any issues like mine (upload getting halved)

I have a 4mbps connection with 1mbps upstream. I had my connection changed to fastpath by contacting PTCLCARES on twitter, it's permanent.

Your line stats are great. Yeah it would help with pings a bit but if you face any syncing issues, switch back to interleaved.

Line stats are as OK as they can get. Day and night time doesn't change line stats. Only thing it effects is network congestion. More users online simultaneously during the day compared to late night cause low speed and high ping because PTCL has given out way more connections then their equipment can handle in an area.

thats the shitty shit going on here man, i have checked it from the exchange and they have not released any new numbers from our exchange for the past 6 months, because of their move to fiber optic for DSL. a new exchange is established for that. with their own infrastructure for that.

one of the rep said the issue may be from the server end. but i doubt, tens of servers running on either gigabit or around that strong network would throttle pings of players from specific area.

one rep even said to me that the under water cable issue has been resolved, but its not configured properly (whatever the hell that means)

the main issue, which i think, is the lack of dedication to work. my issue has been like this for the past month now. i get high pings on specific times, and now its Sunday, most poeple should be online now right? but ping is ok.

it gets shitty on its own for no apparent reason.
also my issue is that my configuration gets freaked out on its own. their must be someone new at exchange i bet, OR, some one messing with me SPECIFICALLY! i have been to exchange the most out of all the customers in our area. hell, even 1218 people now know me when i call them

im pretty sure the real problem is either or both of the last two...

Next time you visit the exchange you can tell those chimps that if an international server hosted by one of the fastest providers can give OK speeds at night time (local) and speeds gets slow during our day-peak time then it's not the server's fault. And honestly those @$$hats have played that undersea cable card way more than they should and now whenever they wan't to get rid of a consumer's complaint without doing anything to actually solve the problem they blame it on undersea cable. That slow speed and high ping issue has been persistent here since years not months or weeks. Only time the pings would get stable and browsing/download/upload speed would be OK is after 2-3AM till 12PM. It starts to get slow after that and during evening esp weekends I can't tell any difference between this broadband shite or the dial-up internet I had ten years ago.

Multiple, can be cogent/seabone or directly through AMS-IX
