HEVC 10bit 4k Playback advise

As the title states im looking for a way to play HEVC 4k 10bit files on windows 10
as windows 10 don't support HEVC right away you have to buy a HEVC extension from the store is there any other way to play HEVC files with hardware encoding?

VLC doesnt play lagless HEVC im looking for an alternative.

10 bit is a gimmick and you won't notice a difference between 10bit and 8bit on your laptop's monitor. 10bit encodes would lag regardless. Get a gpu with high VRAM to avoid the lag.

I have tried a number of media players to run 4k 10bit HDR movies.

Best solution, without any stutter, skipped frames and smooth as butter:
1. MPC-BE (MPC-HC is no longer being developed)
2. Use MadVR as external filter.

Then follow the following 3 tutorials:

Also, I am 100% sure you don't have a 12bit TV - you have a 10bit TV max.

Because they have probably used MPC's internal filters to play a HDR file. MadVR is required for proper decoding of HDR (and HDR to SDR conversion if playing back on non-hdr display). Windows Movies & TV supports HDR files.

that screenshot with MPC is using madVR decoder

the reason im not using movies & tv is that its just too dark in some areas of the movie or too colorful and low sharpness.

Stop looking at comparisons and start testing!

rx460 is capable of decode...make sure drivers are upto date..
downlaod and run gpu-z when playback and record gpu usage (click on sensors tab)
and post screenshot
also if using mpc-hc click view> show statistics
record number of dropped frames.

i got the same problem...
youtube videos in hdr playing on mpc with madvr are excellent
download a 80gb torrent movie 10bit hdr its all washed out....what is the solution to this

running sli rtx 2080ti and 2700x ,32gb ram, m.2 970 pro's so not an issue of computing power!
