Help needed

Hello everyone.
So, i want to ask whether a person coming from the UK is allowed to bring with him PS sharpshooter gun?
My father was bringing it from Dubai but they didn't allow him to take it and threw the gun away, though, they did say that, had he carried it in luggage, they wouldn't have done so. Moreover, someone at my father's office told him that in case of USA, we have to tell the airport authorities a day before we fly that we'd be carrying a toy gun. But he doesn't have any idea about the rules in the UK.
Now i've asked my cousin to bring it with him from the UK and hence, he has asked his relatives and friends about any such rules regarding toy guns and they've said there wouldn't be any problem. I'm not sure if they are right so cannot take a risk.
I have to tell him by tonight whether or not i want him to bring it. So can anyone help me out with this?

P.S. Its a bundle that i want my cousin to bring, had it been just the gun, i would've bought it from Amaga.

I am so effing unlucky!!
when i told my cousin to get the gun for me he said it might be too late but he did check some stores and it was out of stock.
Now, his brother is coming in mid march so he'll be bringing the bundle, IA!
Its so annoying to wait for 15 more days!
