[GUIDE] Upload & Seed a torrent with uTorrent

The amount of users that do not know how to upload and seed successfully is happening more and more as this site gets bigger and this makes things frustrating for other users that try to download and get dead torrents as we call them.

before i go ahead with writing how to make a torrent ready for seeding i will give 3 simple rules that should be decided on and followed before seeding and wasting your time and other users that are looking to you for your share of uploads.


1. always be sure this is what you want to do as torrents are like a well heated marajuana plant. they take time and some work to get them to grow dont give up on them.

2. You can keep your computer on and running for 3 to 4 days for users to get your torrent and start seeding themselves to help you along the way. sharing is caring and as a new uploader you will figure this out and care more for other uploaders in the process.

3. the file shall be kept in a safe place on your computer and wont be moved as this will be needed in the future if someone wants a reseed.

HOW TO MAKE A TORRENT​

This is how we start the process off you cannot just upload an original file to KAT it has to be made into torrent format to be uploaded..... to do this

1.OPEN uTORRENT

2.GO TO FILE / CREATE NEW TORRENT [a window should open up]

3.SELECT SOURCE : click add directory [ here you will be able to find the file which you wish to upload then select the folder]

4. TORRENT PROPERTIES where it says TRACKERS: add the trackers you wish to use and if these need updated find new trackers on this
page

5. under OTHER Make sure the
START SEEDING box is ticked this is important!!

6. click CREATE & SAVE AS another window should open in a few seconds check that the title of the torrent is correct and direct it to the same place the actual file is situated then click SAVE

7. click CLOSE

8. find the TORRENT FILE you just created it should be found in the same folder as the original file you just used to make it...

9. Double click the torrent file and utorrent will automatically start up the downloading/seeding process....

Yes, most of us do know how to make a torrent. But incase a member doesn't, it'll help. Plus the handy guide might help someone, who would join this forum or maybe donate because we (the community) helped him.

People should know that Trackers are just a Bridge connecting YOU with the Other Party(ies).

You'll have to Seed your Torrent TILL that other party Finishes its Download.

Which means ... YES You are DIRECTLY seeding to them. And If you turn off your PC, the other party will not be able to download.

Torrents (P2P) doesn't work the same way as your normal Downloads work where you simply Click on a LInk and dowlnoad a File, Saved on a Remote Server.

How much time do we have to seed?

there is no fixed time on seeding but its better to continue seeding until atleast one person has finished the download..then you can limit your upload speed or even stop seeding cuz the thing with these goras are that if they like the torrent then they WILL seed it..i uploaded a mass effect 3 art book torrent once..seeded for a few hours so that 2-3 ppl had downloaded it and then stopped..a week later i checked the status of my torrent and about 40 ppl were seeding it 12 leeching and it had been downloaded about 200 times
