Dude both on the cards work flawlessly with the cx400.
Performance of both the GPU'z is almost at par. The 4870 is a cheaper and more value option. But try to find the full slot version of the XFX 4870 or go with a used HIS or Sapphire one.
Though gtx260 isn't a bad option either if u want Physx & u've got money to burn :)

Bro this is the reason why i suggested u go for the full slot slot version, prefereably the HIS icq4+ one, if u find it.

Yeah bro cx400 is enough for this card i was using it myself, no worries this PSU can run it even with overclocking without a hitch :) As for Galaxy, i don't wanna comment about those noobs.

@Ammy!
CX400 is sufficient enough to handle both GTX260 and HD4870. Dont fall for its 400W tag, it can do much more than that.

And Currently, HD4870 is the best bang for the buck. Current price is Rs.13500 which is much less than a GTX260's 18500-20500 ... while performance difference is a mere 3 or 4 frames avg.

So i will vote for a HD4870.

BUT ... If you intend to buy a GPU, you should mention your Other system specs as well to get the right suggestion.

^ Dont go for Teh Galaxy's PSU suggestion on GPUz ... They just wrote those kick ass PSU's to increase the sale of their ghatiya psu's. <_<

As i mentioned before ... The current price of 4870 makes it superior to a GTX260 at the moment. 5k price difference is too much between them considering the performance difference. So I guess 4870 should be the obvious choice.

^ Well those are some controversial ideas thats all ... dont pay attention to people talking rubbish.

Anyway ... GTS250 competes with HD4850 not 4870, so if you consider the performance difference, then 4870 is simply superior.

^yeah do wat abobo said and get HD4870, best bang for buck card in the market right now.

Though you could also consider HD5750 if you want DX11, though performance is a bit less (not sure abt performance)

its better if you go with silverstone 650w if you are thinking of vx550 (both are of same price) and yes corsair 400w can run corei5 with gts 250 and minor O.C... :D

O chal jaye ga yaar. Tension not.

CX400 can deliver upto 472 watts even on peak 100% load, so dont get confused with its "400W" tag. However, if you have the money then you CAN go for a better one. But if on a budget, then CX400 is sufficient enough.

If its an HD 4870 with 512mb of GDDR,it wont compete with gtx 260.But if its the 1gb version, then gtx 260 will eat the dust, apart from physix,as you know ATI does not support Physix.Since i have burnt a 460 watt PSU while using my HD 4870,i recommend atleast 500w PSU.
