@ smoof (i dunno what that second word is
)
It's operator (i.e. 0pr8a). So it sounds as "smooth operator". But writing it plainly beats the whole point
sorry if i seem rude but to be honest, i've grown tired of the "beautiful game" horseshit that gunners keep on harping about.... what credentials does your team have apart from this "beautiful game"? i can gather 11 guys from my mohalla and go into an empty ground and start tiki-taka but that doesn't count as successful football.... sadly, that's the most arsenal have managed for the past 6 years.... i think it was hmir who said that posession is like a penis... it's not the size but what you do with it that matters.... i fully agree..... before comparing your club to barca, look at what they have achieved along with their playing style although i say again, that they do it in an inferior league (shahid bhai coming to kill me i can feel it)
I think in your eagerness to explain the 'peni$' analogy you've not properly read my post. I think it was a fair enough argument but you're actually comparing that your mohalla guys can pass around an empty field, somehow feeling that this would emulate Arsenal's play. I usually aruge with people who contribute meaningful analysis, not the usual internet warriors in abundancy at every forum. But since I'm new here, I'm willing to to make an exception, sorry if I may seen rude.
You see the only problem is Arsenal haven't won a trophy in 6 years. This single missing point renders Arsenal to an extremely unjust and unfair view. They've been subjected to some of the worst remarks by their own fans, not to mention by rival fans. For what, not winning a single trophy in 6 years? What if they would've won 1 trophy in the last 6 years or maybe 2 or 3 trophies in the last 6 years? Would then everyone be happy, of course not. They would say why didn't they win a trophy every year or multiple trophies in a year.
This trophy winning mentality is what "I" don't agree with. As I said earlier, trophies are there every season. As soon as you win one, 2 months down the line you start worrying about it again. If a team tumbles in it's quest, people instantly start making coy comments about it and this becomes the new mantra. I mean look at Manchester United. Easily one of the most successful clubs in the EPL, but since they fail make this year's CL, people are now dejecting the same team and labelling it to being some sort of a second division team. If you ask me, this is completely unfair to a team of United's stature. But then again, this is just how "I" think and you don't necessarily have to agree with me. You're more than welcome to make jokes about any team which include the words 'peni$' or as the signature of a fellow member here goes 'org*$m to wife".
Coming back to Arsenal, I think they have been the most consistent team in the EPL by miles (minus a trophy in the last 6 years, if you must). Arsenal have consistently been in the top flight of EPL including qualification in the CL. Arsenal are not hugely indebted like other clubs. Arsenal have consistently fielded a younger side than any of the other top English clubs. And most important of all, during this course they have successfully established their reputation for playing a reamarkably slick and technical style of football which is, with all due respect to other clubs, only second to Barcelona. This is what "I" value the most. You're more than welcome to input any meaningful contributions to this argument. I really value useful comments. But the fact of the matter is that like other people, I don't want Arsenal to become inconsistent. Don't want them missing in the top-flight of EPL and CL. Don't want them hugely indebted. And certainly don't want them to stop fielding technically gifted youngsters with ludicrously priced players whilst adapting to a rag-tag style of footbal which seems to be working for most of the teams. All for what, a trophy, which to be brutally honest, would eventually come. I think it's better if one sees things in the longer term.
About the peni$ analogy that you said not the size but what you do with it matters. Well if I had the opportunity to choose, which one would I?
> A small peni$ which doesn't devastate my opponent but gets me satisfied; or
> A large peni$ which devastates my opponent and doesn't get me satisfied. :looking:
