Let me tell you a little about myself.

I'm studying in SSUET(BS Comp Engineering) and work freelance as a Graphic Designer.

Saadullah Aleem | Logo Designer (it doesnt have all my work though)

The degree I'm enrolled in right now(Computer Engineering) hasn't got much to do with Graphic/Logo Design and I usually don't have much time to do it. And I've recently started to feel that I'm losing interest in Design.( it might just be temporary though)

I'm currently in 6th semester and don't know much about Programming either(although I CAN code but never put any time in it cause all free time I have has always been consumed by designing).

And now I'm thinking, is there really any such thing as PASSION? I mean I thought Designing was my passion; used to think I'd work hard and reach to the level of getting a job as an Art Director or something.

Do any of you have a Passion? And by passion I mean something that you would want to design your life around.

You know what's the worst enemy of your passion ?, Commercializing it. As soon as starts to do stuff for money you will lose creativity freedom. If that's your thing than you can still finish your Computer Engineering and enroll in an year deploma course on designing or learn on your own.

Passion as Career is what you want but can't have because you got admission in CE because someone told your parents about them and Art is seen as no profit and often a "Wella banda" thing in out society.

So you are still not lost. You can balance your life in keeping a main technical profession and keeping Graphic Design as freelancing and enjoy still enjoy best of both worlds.

Many of Engineering students I know are now working in banks, and many of non technical people are head of departments of IT at many places. This is Pakistan, It's your life, It's your choice. Be proud of being lucky enough to have such a passion.

And don't worry about programming thing, Learn and do what's necessary for degree and if you get a good job in relevant area, you will learn it by doing it. Academics are often just a learning tool but not on practical level.

You ASSUMED that someone told my parents that Comp Engg would be a good idea. It was me who chose it.

And I think to develop interest in design again, I should start doing stuff just for fun, like vector illustrations, photo manipulations etc, so I think you're right about the commercializing thing.

The thing is I realized it late that Computer Engg isnt really my thing. I mean I'm interested in it but not to the extent I'm( or was) interested in design. And as I mentioned, I was planning to switch to design full time. But now I feel like I'm losing interest in it too. So pretty much feel like "na idhar ka, na udhar ka" right now.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
