Them using FSR 1 and still dropping so many frames in 720p to 1080p means they had little to no headroom. FSR2 is more taxing and while it might have made the IQ issues better, it would have come with an even worse performance penalty.

It also means the CPU is bottlenecked in town/city locations so FSR2 wouldn't have helped either way.

The game is an overhyped garbage. I don't think the game deserves the scores given by reviewers, who may be motivated by the 'porn' in the game to give it a high score.

Games like FFXVI, Starfield, Redfall and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that run on 30FPS are an utter embarrassment for console owners.

I am an objective gamer that play on both PC and consoles. And if a game is garbage irrespective of the platform - PC or console, I prefer to say it out loud.

Lately, PC games were a stuttery garbage at launch - The Last of US, Wild Hearts, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Star Wars Jedi, Dead Space, Horizon Zero Dawn, Elden Ring, which Digital Foundry said "simply isn't good enough, and many more. Only blind PC fans who seem to stutter in real life will deny this fact.

But now, the poorly optimized new console games have leveled the playing field for garbage games.

We need to boycott pathetic games with stutters, poor quality graphics, and below 60 FPS games, so that devs are encouraged to release quality games that most gamers like.

After the abysmal Final Fantasy XV, CBU has restored my faith in new Final Fantasy entries. Final Fantasy XVI plays like a dream. Seems like this may end up being the best game of 2023 for me after Tears of the Kingdom. There's Armored Core 6 and Spider-Man 2 still to go, so let's see.

A mini boss fight from very early in the game. Only have one Eikon atm, so the combat isn't very varied.

It's mostly a stable 60 fps during combat, as the resolution drops and stays at 720p. Hopefully they patch an option to play the whole game at 720p. I don't mind 🤷‍♂️ :LOL:

Necrokiller already knows capturing gameplay on the Switch is pretty much a non-option. Rest assured, I have finished TOTK and thoroughly enjoyed every second of it :LOL:🤜

It's unfortunate that the game suffers from 50 ms spikes during exploration due to targeting 1080p. I'll take PS3 era IQ of fixed 720p (w/ FSR 1.0) for a smooth performing game. Deikhtay hain PC version ka kia haal hoga 🤷‍♂️:LOL:

Also, according to John Linneman (I'm sure he consulted Alex on this), the game appears to use a combination of ray-traced and baked shadows. Ray-traced shadows should've been disabled in Performance mode. Both Jedi Survivor and FFXVI want to force RT on console users, which is a bad approach.
